The Global Trading business, within BlackRock Global Markets, executes trades on behalf of all portfolio management teams at the firm. The team is organized along regions and asset classes, providing the best service to our investment teams and achieving optimal outcomes for our clients. OVERVIEW:

The Equity Trading team is a vibrant, diverse, high performing team responsible for trading BlackRock's equity and equity derivative orders. It is a market leader in its field and involves trading substantial volumes of cash equities, Swaps, ETF's Futures, Options and other listed and OTC derivatives. It works closely with several investment teams covering a range of strategies including index, quantitative and fundamental. The Desk also manages core partnerships with the Broker community.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Execute Equity orders for several different strategies and understand the full trading lifecycle.
  • Formulate trading strategies with PMs taking into consideration benchmarks, liquidity demands, risk and cost.
  • Stay informed about market events and trends, actively sharing insights and perspectives with the investment and trading community.
  • Pro-actively contribute, evolve and innovate the trading processes to enhance efficiencies, reduce cost and/or reduce risk.
  • Learn to use and contribute to market leading trading and data platforms including Aladdin.
  • Help drive trading forward from a technical perspective.
  • Build relationships with the broker community.
  • Operate as part of a highly collaborative and supportive team culture.

KEY ATTRIBUTES:

  • Degree education; relevant certifications or qualifications
  • 3-5 years of experience in Equity Trading with a focus on Fundamental/Active strategies. Knowledge of UK and CEEMEA markets is preferred.
  • Resilient team player with effective communication skills and demonstrated ability to work with multiple partners and stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of investment strategies and willing to learn and develop in this area.
  • Confident with technology and the ability to learn how to use multiple platforms and applications. Coding and data analytics experience an advantage.
  • Ability to manage multiple relationships internally and externally with good negotiation skills.
  • Enthusiastic and positive approach to challenges.
  • Well organised, disciplined approach with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Strong work ethic with high level of self-motivation and eagerness to innovate and evolve the trading team.
  • Adaptable and comfortable working in an entrepreneurial and dynamically changing environment.

Our hybrid work model
