About this role

As part of the Global Markets Relationship Management team, this role will be responsible for the ongoing relationship management efforts with BlackRock's key external counterparties while assisting on various strategic initiatives related to optimizing the firm's relationships with banks, broker-dealers, and other major market participants. Specifically, the candidate will be responsible for quality and timely execution of the following activities:

Relationship Management

  • Support ongoing relationship management efforts with trading and financing counterparties as well as other key market participants and serve as a key point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders
  • Conduct periodic/ad-hoc relationship reviews, incl. ongoing analysis of change in the overall relationship dynamic and commercial relationships
  • Help manage business critical growth and development initiatives related to counterparties, incl. support for senior management summits
  • Provide support to senior management for all relevant meetings and events with counterparties (ability to prioritize and manage through significant briefings and data requests is a must)
  • Develop strong expertise around key counterparty relationships across trading, financing, ETFs, capital markets/privates, and other key BlackRock strategic priorities

Global Counterparty Reviews

  • Support all aspects of the formal bi-annual counterparty scorecard review meetings with our top trading partners and senior management
  • Proactively manage production of the scorecard reporting and partner with trading, analytics, and reporting teams to enhance/improve the reporting regime
  • In partnership with trading & analytics teams, enhance / automate existing processes and reporting frameworks to continue to provide leverage to broader BGM leadership
  • Analyze both qualitative and quantitative data to understand trends across asset classes and counterparties as well as drivers of significant changes
  • Develop full set of materials to be reviewed in the scorecard meetings and initiate/lead follow-ups

Diverse Broker Program

  • Assist in managing all aspects of BlackRock's diverse broker program
  • Manage individual diverse broker relationships and partner with internal trading teams to ensure continued growth in overall trading relationship
  • Partner with client businesses to ensure appropriate coverage and monitoring of key sensitive client accounts w/r/t diverse broker utilization and partnerships

Skills & Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in financial services with knowledge of trading and financing functions; a strong institutional knowledge of BlackRock and Aladdin is an advantage
  • Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint, including ability to leverage key functionalities and tools to analyze and interpret large amounts of data and deliver presentations
  • Solid understanding of financial markets, including equities, fixed income, securities financing, ETFs, and capital markets; experience in external relationship management is an advantage
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to write/deliver presentations
  • Ability to coordinate amongst different levels/organizations at the firm; experience working with senior management is an advantage and candidate will be required to develop strong executive presence over time
  • Demonstrated ability to act with sense of urgency and manage through multiple priorities/projects at once; excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills, incl. ability to function effectively within a fast-paced environment
  • Sound judgment, professionalism and a high awareness of the importance of discretion/confidentiality
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics or related field
