Make Your Mark:

The ideal candidate will have experience designing events for a B2B SaaS/software company and is strategic enough to help us develop and execute our global event initiatives to bring together customers, prospects and partners in an in-person and virtual event world.

This is a multifaceted role that needs an experienced candidate that has the skill set to take an active role in the owning portions of our flagship annual user conference BeyondTheBlack (BTB), design and manage an engaging expo experience, drive the strategy and execution of BL hosted events, oversee tradeshow logistics if necessary, and be proficient in event software strategy and execution.

You'll Get To:

Events and Tradeshows

  • Partner with internal stakeholders to align on event strategy and goals.
  • Set up project plans and timelines that identify key areas of responsibilities, outline venue management, keynote speaker selection, AV and production, marketing, onsite branding, etc.
  • Coordinate and drive regular project meetings for each assigned event to provide status of project planning and make sure that milestones are being met - flagging concerns, if necessary, in a timely manner.
  • Manage a budget for each event or tradeshow to ensure there are no cost overruns.
  • Manage all event related vendors (i.e. venue sourcing, AV, promotional merchants, exhibit company, independent contractors, etc.) making sure to leverage existing relationships when possible, keeping in mind the quality and level of service required to executive on world class events.
  • Monitor supplier performance, ensure that the service received matches the business strategic aims.
  • Travel for site selection when necessary.
  • Continually look to improve event processes and reduce inefficiencies.
  • Orchestration of onsite supervision should ensure set-up is completed as scheduled, management of all onsite vendors, meetings are flawlessly executed, food service and ancillary events are fulfilled as planned and all attendees are "wowed" with the overall implementation and customer service of the event.
  • Post-event, collect all feedback via surveys and debrief meetings to prepare an executive level recap, obtain all invoices to submit for payment and finalize the budget.
  • Be data-driven with the ability to demonstrate how events align with and make an impact on the overall business and marketing strategy of the company.
  • Translate analytics and data into recommendations focused on enhanced strategic value.

Expo Hall Manager Duties

  • Partner with the Alliance Marketing team and Director of Events to create sponsorship prospectives that provide thought leadership and branding opportunities for sponsor partners that include options that meet event revenue goals and assist in fulfillment where necessary.
  • Design and manage floorplan and supervise expo vendors prior to the event to identify booth assets for partners and BlackLine booths, and when necessary, travel to oversee the fabrication and installation of exhibits ensuring exhibit opening deadlines are met.
  • Serve as point of contact for all internal exhibitors including timelines, communications, promotions, etc
  • Manage and track to an expo hall budget as determined by the overall event driver.

Event Software Management

  • As necessary, using approved event software, create event templates that include registration to be used as self-serve assets for field marketing events.

What You'll Bring:

  • Years of Experience in Related Field: 7 - 10+ years' experience in sponsor and event management, preferably at a B2B SaaS/software company
  • Education: BS/BA degree
  • Technical/Specialized Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Advanced skills in Cvent and/or RainFocus, Excel and PowerPoint. On24 and Wrike experience is a plus.

Salary Range:

USD $142,000.00 - USD $177,000.00

Pay Transparency Statement:

Placement within this range depends upon several factors, including the applicant's prior relevant job experience, skill set, and geographic location. In addition to base pay, BlackLine also offers short-term and long-term incentive programs, based on eligibility, along with a robust offering of benefit and wellness plans.
