Make Your Mark:
Reporting directly to the SVP of Strategic Growth Initiatives, the Director of Strategic Innovation will play a critical role on executing on identified growth opportunities, strategies, and executing plans to achieve the company's growth objectives. This position will focus on leading BlackLine's efforts to build and execute comprehensive Go To Market (GTM) strategies to drive adoption and growth of our SaaS solutions within government agencies and public institutions including Federal, State and Local agencies. Also supporting the Public Sector Practice, this role will also work across teams partnering with Product, Cloud, and Security as we work to achieve and maintain FedRamp certification. In addition, they will focus on Sales Execution Governance activities, developing and implementing innovative practices that support the ongoing growth and efficiency of our business. And also, drive and facilitate communication among stakeholders and ensure the alignment of growth initiatives with the organization's overall strategy.
You'll Get To:
- Design and implement a Go-to-Market strategy specifically for FedRAMP-authorized products and services, targeting government agencies and organizations.
- Drive process changes required in order to serve the Public Sector including but not limited to Pricing, Partners, Marketing, Sales motion, resellers, RFP/RFI, Solex, Contracts, and others as required.
- Partner with Product, Cloud, and Security as we work to achieve and maintain FedRAMP compliance, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with product development, legal, security, and compliance teams to ensure internal processes and procedures include FedRAMP requirements - includes integration into product offerings and go-to-market plans (partner strategy, commercial offering, reseller).
- Maintian system related data (Salesforce, Clari, Gong, among others) required for the Public Sector.
- Build and own the State and Local overlay strategy to drive greater focus, velocity and adoption among 3500+ state and local agencies.
- Support Industry specific needs cross functionally for the Federal, State, Local and higher Education agencies.
- Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, industry partners, and compliance experts, to facilitate successful market entry and growth for Public Sector initiatives.
- Build and own Sales Governance communication efforts that reinforce changes and key initiatives including activities like Sales Cast, Leadership Cast, Office of the CRO QBR. This will include tight partnership with Revenue Operations Leader and Sales Leadership globally.
- Establish KPIs and metrics to measure the effectiveness of Public Sector related go-to-market initiatives, analyzing campaign performance and making data-driven adjustments as needed.
- Gather feedback from the market and internal teams to refine the go-to-market strategy, ensuring that the organization remains responsive to industry changes and customer needs related to the Public Sector.
- Manage a diverse range of strategic growth initiatives across departments, evaluating metrics and analyzing program effectiveness to ensure successful outcomes.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, partnering with them to propose and implement growth initiatives that drive business opportunities and help to prioritize and coordinate resources for key company-wide initiatives.
- Design new initiatives by framing complex problems, assessing current states, creating target state solutions, developing actionable recommendations, and supporting rollout across the organization.
- Develop and manage budgets for growth initiatives, ensuring projects are completed within budget and yield revenue growth.
- Ensure that the corporate strategy and vision are embedded in all growth projects, promoting consistency across initiatives.
What You'll Bring:
- At least 5-7 years of experience in business process transformation with a proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. project management, business administration, engineering); Graduate degree preferred
- Business Acumen: Deep knowledge of how businesses work and understanding of the big picture for technological change at a business with the ability to align project objectives with BlackLine's overall strategy. Ability to develop business plans for potential growth efforts for both evaluation and execution.
- FinTech Knowledge - Deep understanding of Fintech software including buyer processes and opportunities, business operations and operating model.
- Integration Experience - Experience mapping new strategic initiatives or acquired products/growth opportunities into cross functional operating models with little disruption but delivering against committed results
- GTM Strategy - Knowledge and hands on experience working across the GTM teams driving projects forward and suggesting and leading necessary changes across processes and systems.
- Strategic Thinking: Knows how to identify needs, develop strategies in the marketplace, and possesses strong understanding of the business practices, trends, technologies and current and future polices that influence a business and the fundamental changes needed to address them. Strategic thinker with a data-driven and analytical approach to problem-solving.
- Leadership/Change Management: Motivate employees to embrace change, through guidance, modeling, mentoring and the ability to craft a compelling narrative as to why the organization needs to change. Strong people management and management through influence skills.
- Emotional Intelligence: Well-honed communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills. Adept at inquisitive, discerning, careful listening and ability to read between the lines. Able to move through complex, sensitive situations effectively and quietly, anticipating landmines and planning accordingly. Able to build relationships and understand important growth.
- Decision-Making: Able to identify and address complex issues by making data-driven decisions regarding resources, tasks and deadlines in digital and business process transformation programs.
- Communication: Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas to diverse audiences.
- BlackLine Expertise: Deep understanding of BlackLine GTM processes, solutions, customers, and interconnected processes across departments.

Salary Range:
USD $172,000.00 - USD $215,000.00
Pay Transparency Statement:
Placement within this range depends upon several factors, including the applicant's prior relevant job experience, skill set, and geographic location. In addition to base pay, BlackLine also offers short-term and long-term incentive programs, based on eligibility, along with a robust offering of benefit and wellness plans.
