Summary of Role:

The Senior Career Consultant/Executive Coach will lead the delivery of high-impact coaching, career development support, and leadership training programs for a major government healthcare organization. This position involves overseeing and providing executive coaching, career consulting services, assessment administration, and custom course development to enhance the agency's workforce capabilities and drive organizational transformation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and delivery of executive coaching programs for senior agency leaders
  • Oversee career consulting services, including one-on-one consultations and group workshops
  • Manage the administration of leadership assessments and provide detailed debriefs
  • Lead the development of custom leadership and management courses
  • Collaborate with agency stakeholders to identify and address critical skill gaps
  • Facilitate high-level workshops, retreats, and training sessions
  • Mentor and guide mid-level Career Consultant/Executive Coaches
  • Analyze coaching and training effectiveness using agency-provided evaluation tools and industry best practices
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on program outcomes and recommendations
  • Ensure all coaching and training materials are Section 508 compliant
  • Develop and implement competency models aligned with agency and OPM frameworks
  • Design and oversee succession planning and talent management strategies
  • Integrate coaching initiatives with broader organizational development efforts
  • Support diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives through leadership development programs
  • Design and implement organization-wide leadership development programs
  • Create and deliver workshops on advanced coaching techniques for internal staff
  • Develop strategies to build a coaching culture within the organization
  • Contribute to business development and thought leadership through content creation, industry presentations, and identifying growth opportunities in federal sector OD and talent management.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Organizational Psychology, Adult Learning, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in executive coaching, leadership development, and career consulting
  • ICF certification (PCC or MCC level preferred)
  • Extensive experience coaching senior executives in federal agencies
  • Strong knowledge of leadership competency models and assessment tools
  • Expertise in 360-degree feedback and other specific assessment tools (e.g., MBTI, Hogan, Strengths Deployment Inventory)
  • Demonstrated ability to design and deliver impactful leadership training programs
  • Experience with various coaching methodologies and career development frameworks
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills
  • Proven track record of building trusted advisor relationships with senior leaders
  • In-depth knowledge of federal agency operations, culture, and HR policies
  • Thorough understanding of federal human capital frameworks and OPM's HR University resources
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design
  • Experience with data-driven decision making and analytics in coaching and leadership development contexts
  • Ability to work in an Agile environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • Experience with or willingness to obtain necessary security clearances for working with federal agencies
  • Deep understanding of various leadership theories and their practical application
  • Experience designing and implementing talent management strategies across large organizations
  • Proficiency in a range of coaching modalities (e.g., solutions-focused, cognitive-behavioral, narrative coaching)
  • Expertise in learning transfer strategies to ensure sustainable behavior change

  • Additional relevant certifications (e.g., SHRM-SCP, BCC)
  • Experience in healthcare or public sector organizations
  • Knowledge of human-centered design principles
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and their application in organizational settings
  • Published research or articles in the field of leadership development or executive coaching
  • Experience integrating neuroscience principles into coaching and leadership development programs
