We are recruiting for a field-based

(Sr) Network Manager, Rare Diseases (f/m/d) - Bitburg, Aachen, Düsseldorf, Duisburg, Essen, Neuwied

About This Role: As the (Sr) Network Manager (f/m/d) for Rare Diseases at our dynamic biotechnology company, you will play a pivotal role in the Rare Disease team, reporting directly to the Lead Network Management Rare Diseases. In this impactful position, you will ensure that healthcare professionals (HCPs) are equipped to identify patients living with rare diseases and closely collaborate with the cross-functional rare disease team. Your primary mission is to facilitate access to potentially life-changing therapies by raising disease awareness and streamlining the patient identification process across HCPs. You will be engaging with a diverse group of HCPs across multiple specialties, including General Practitioners, Orthopedists, Neurologists, and Cardiologists. You will adapt your focus and prioritize tasks in line with the evolving business needs, initially concentrating on Friedreich's Ataxia (FA), with the flexibility to shift towards additional rare disease assets as determined by the company's strategic direction.

What You’ll Do: 

  • Engage with HCPs to enhance the identification of patients with rare diseases. 
  • Promote disease awareness of Friedreich’s Ataxia and facilitate patient identification within major HCP groups. 
  • Educate and inform HCPs about therapy centers for rare diseases in close coordination with the KAM Rare Diseases after potential patient identification. 
  • Increase the knowledge of rare diseases among defined HCP groups through direct engagement. 
  • Communicate information about possible therapies for certain rare diseases and the associated testing protocols. 
  • Partner with the KAM to discuss results, treatment center availability and strategic approaches. 
  • Advocate for and implement omnichannel strategies to support the Biogen portfolio and disease awareness activities effectively. 
  • Contribute to the development of market and customer insights in emerging therapeutic areas. 
  • Gain a deep understanding of rare disease market within therapeutic area, HCP landscape, HCP priorities and patient decision-making processes as well as patient journey. 
  • Lead market research initiatives, including conducting surveys and testing concepts with HCPs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor/Master’s degree in life sciences, economics or qualification as pharmaceutical representative according to art. 75 medicines act (Arzneimittelgesetz - AMG) 
  • Fluent in German and English  
  • 3+ years of commercial experience in the hospital/academic medical center/biotech industry 
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with a variety of HCPs 
  • Experience in disease awareness initiatives and educational engagements is a plus 
  • High degree of learning agility to learn/understand Rare Disease administration 
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and handle risk and uncertainty 
  • Must have experience working in a commercial team that was a part of a multifunctional team to address patient/caregiver needs 
  • Experienced in independent customer planning and CRM systems is a must 
  • Preferred experience in Rare Diseases  
  • High willingness to travel (including overnight-stays) is mandatory
