About This Role   

The Sr Manager, Planning leads the material planning function for the RTP Bio DS Manufacturing Site for both clinical and commercial programs. This individual is responsible for planning /managing a large scale raw material inventory and ensuring three internal manufacturing facilities have adequate raw material on hand to support production. The Sr Manager leads a team that collaborates daily with Manufacturing, Warehouse, Scheduling, Quality, and Procurement to resolve raw material issues, scheduling conflicts, inventory levels, and delivery requirements. Develops raw material inventory forecast levels and monitors KPIs and material risk metrics to drive improvements against targets. Works closely with the Site Leadership Team to support the business requirements and minimize the risk of production stoppage due to raw material issues.

What You’ll Do   

  • Responsible for raw materials planning and inventory control activities, forecasted demand including LRP, safety stock levels by completing IO Model fine tuning and static SS assessments, expiry reporting  
  • Manage planning settings including PIM / EBS set up and sourcing / transfer rules. Responsible for troubleshooting system issues that impact material planning
  • Complete Expired and Obsolete report quarterly and presents the information to the site leadership team.  Drives mitigation strategies for E&O reduction
  • Lead direct reports and works with cross functional teams to develop mitigations plans for materials with supply issues (material alerts) to maintain the production plan and corporate partner revenue globally
  • Monitors KPIs and material risk metrics to drive improvements against targets 
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Skills   

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred in chemical/biochemical engineering or supply chain) plus minimum 7 years of experience working in a GMP quality environment within biotech/pharmaceutical industry
  • OR High school diploma or equivalent plus minimum 10 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with raw materials planning in a GMP manufacturing facility; Superuser/SME with enterprise applications (e.g. Infor, Oracle) and PLM
  • Previous supervisory experience with demonstrated leadership skills and possess the ability to manage complexity and multiple priorities
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Aptitude for recognizing opportunities for improvement in systems or processes and recommending solutions
  • Ability to influence with authority, pro-actively builds healthy working relationships between their department and other groups
