The Senior Medical Manager is responsible for the communication of scientific and clinical findings to external audiences. Builds and maintains trusted medical/scientific relationships with health care community stakeholders.  Analyses, interprets, and summarizes scientific and clinical data, and identifies appropriate publication and presentation forums for the data. Drives data generation initiatives, ensuring a deep understanding of disease areas and Biogen’s products, and facilitates the integration of innovative solutions to address patient needs.

The Senior Medical Manager drives the timely execution of the medical plan. Will be responsible for contributing to the set-up of the medical roadmap and strategy – providing support, guidance, thought-partnership and alignment with the partners on the medical strategy. Engages with internal stakeholders that include Medical at Regional & Global level, Marketing, Compliance, Regulatory, Market access. Supports the commercial organization to ensure high quality disease education, communication and material content.  Supports better understanding of current local challenges and clinical practice needs for Biogen areas of interest.

Provides strategic direction and has overall responsibility for the Medical activities, including pharmacovigilance, drug safety and medical compliance. Supports clinical study monitoring and status updates. 


What You'll Do

  • Facilitate medical and scientific information exchange with the medical community on the diseases in focus through compliant and legitimate interactions with HCPs on the field (clinical presentations, 1:1 interaction, coordination of peer-to peer meetings, etc.).
  • Disseminate high quality complex scientific information and provide legitimate and innovative medical education content aligned with the regional/ affiliate medical education concept.
  • Gather medical insights from the field, provide key learnings to the regional Medical team on regular basis as appropriate.
  • Provide expertise to HCPs and other stakeholders who wish to present data on Biogen disease areas and related products.
  • Support the development and implementation of the internal training plan, monitor the plan and update knowledge of disease areas.
  • Provide Medical review and approval of promotional materials and activities in accordance with corporate compliance and local regulations.
  • Point of contact with Pharmacovigilance, Medical Information, and Compliance.
  • Execute national and regional medical projects, strategically engaging internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate leadership in defining the medical plan working collaboratively and in alignment with the disease cross functional team (i.e. Market Access, Care Managers, Disease Brand teams, etc.) ensuring the successful implementation of the company’s overall strategy and objectives.
  • Stay up to date with therapy advances, current research, medical scientific knowledge and detailed knowledge on Biogen products and disease areas.

Your scientific acumen enables you to critically appraise, synthesize, and effectively communicate medical data, ensuring productive scientific exchange. A natural relationship builder, you establish trusted partnerships with key opinion leaders, leveraging your expertise to align with commercial teams and enhance patient access. With a customer-centric mindset, you anticipate and address stakeholder needs, while your planning and organizational abilities ensure the seamless execution of medical initiatives.

This role is in hybrid work model. Please note that this role requires a candidate to be a holder of work permit & residency in Poland.

Qualifications

Required Skills

  • Advanced terminal degree (MD, PhD, PharmD, DNP in medical specialty or scientific qualification), or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • At least 3-5 years of Medical Manager experience in the Pharma industry.
  • Neurology experience and/or working with in-hospital treatments is valued
  • Statistical & data interpretation: Ability to assimilate medical data, present to and discuss with KMEs and other functions
  • Strong understanding of clinical development and study management, as well as real world evidence generation plans and practices.
  • Focus on scientific exchange: Excellent interpersonal skills; constant interactions with KMEs, physicians, patient organizations and internal stakeholders
  • Communicating effectively: Excellent communication skills; required to present scientific data to academic and non-academic audience
  • Strategic acumen: Understanding strategic needs of affiliate organization important for completion of tasks
  • Track record of contribution to medical strategies and new launches.
  • Track record in cross-business/cross-functional cooperation, planning and execution.
  • Advanced English and Polish
