Biogen is seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager, Service Delivery, to join the Capability Engineering (CE) Team, serving the Commercial and Medical business globally. The ideal candidate has extensive hands-on experience in DevOps and Agile best practices, and a keen ability to drive these methodologies across multiple teams. The Senior Manager will measurably improve solution delivery performance across all Capability Engineering’s DevOps workstreams service delivery by implementing effective processes, automation, tools, and metrics. This role collaborates closely with Service Delivery Managers (SDMs), and works directly with DevOps Team Leads, Product Owners, and other stakeholders in global teams on the ongoing improvements to delivery services.

What You'll Do:
DevOps and Agile best practices and SAFe Implementation - Lead the implementation and rollout of DevOps and Agile best practices across various teams. Drive the adoption of these methodologies to improve efficiency and delivery. Guide and support delivery teams in the transition towards SAFe methodologies, providing direction and expertise to ensure successful implementation.
Release Automation and Observability - Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for release automation across various solutions and workstreams. Implement monitoring platforms across workstreams (e.g., LogicMonitor, Cloudwatch, and Pingdom). These are key focus areas requiring extensive hands-on experience.
Test Automation - Collaborate with the test engineers to implement test automation across all workstreams, ensuring quality and efficiency in the delivery process.
Monitoring and KPIs - Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics, ensuring all workstreams adhere to these standards. Develop comprehensive reports and present findings to leadership, making recommendations for improvement.
Qualifications
Minimum requirements:
- 7+ years of relevant work experience with business technology, including in a DevOps role with a strong understanding of DevOps principles, practices, and tools.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins), monitoring tools (e.g., LogicMonitor, Cloudwatch, and Pingdom) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
- Experience with Agile Methodologies and tools
Knowledge and skills required:
- Expertise in DevOps and Agile best practices with hands-on experience
- Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodologies
- Demonstrated leadership in driving process improvements and technological advancements
- Proven ability to implement and drive DevOps methodologies across multiple teams
- Automation Skills, including experience developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for release automation
- Familiarity with tools and frameworks for DevOps, Agile, CI/CD and test automation
- Skills in making data-driven recommendations and ability to develop reports and present findings to leadership
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities
- Broad knowledge of IT systems, software development, and infrastructure
- Proficiency in scripting and programming languages commonly used in DevOps (e.g., Python)
- Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, PMP, Certified ScrumMaster are a plus
- Broad business technology knowledge and skills, preferably in the life sciences industry
