Job Description

Senior Manager, business planning is responsible for the planning, reporting and control of Biogen’s selected products or TA and areas (cost centers); Covering South Korea and Great China area.

  • Forecast & Planning
    • Manage all aspects of financial and resource for regional planning and consolidation of annual budgets/plans, quarterly forecasts, and long range plans, through close coordination with affiliates, regional functions, international finance teams and TA lead.
    • Support effective business planning processes, with designing analytics to support thought leadership and decision making.
    • Support preparation user friendly and focused Forecast/reporting Templates, to allow:
      • countries to focus on providing the content and focus on key drivers and to provide meaningful comments; and
      • reviewers to easily understand key financial drivers and performance indicators to identify potential opportunities and risks.
      • TA lead to have a comprehensive view of the Regional Business in the TA
    • Design analytics to help drive optimal resource allocation and trade-off decisions.

  • Responsible for monitoring (incl. reports) ongoing business performance against plans/forecasts. Will keep the leadership team as well as the corporate organization abreast of variations to plans/forecast, as well as other important aspects of operating results (and proposed corrective actions), regarding price, volume, spend, patients.
  • Own the content and provide meaningful insights relevant for Quarterly Sales Call to inform key stakeholders about current quarter key events pertaining to revenue, including components such as share, units, volume, price and foreign exchange with intended result to align on revenue performance for the current quarter, and as it compares to prior quarter and prior year quarter.
  • Capture and call out  the risks and opportunities properly, manage contribution margin aligning with the risks and opportunities.
  • Act as a finance business partner to GM of the four countries and the TA leads
  • Business Development Supporting
    • Support the development of business strategic targets and assessment of strategic initiatives and priorities
    • Lead financial assessment for new product launches / Innovation
  • Financial Controlling /Internal Control
    • Partner with GBS and provide necessary business insights to support accurate and timely accounting closing
    • Ensure Revenue Recognition is in line with the corporate accounting policies and USGAAP. Monitor AR collection and take necessary actions to improve the working capital situation.
    • Ensure internal controls are properly implemented and operated in O2C (Order to Cash) process.
    • Work collaboratively with GBS to maintain and improve accounting processes and internal controls such as a new system implementation, process changes in line with a new regulatory/tax requirement, internal policy changes, and etc
    • Be a liaison of local tax investigations
  • Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or Economics required; CPA, MBA or MSA preferred
    • 5+ years of professional experience in Finance
    • Solid experience with ERP systems (Oracle, SAP or comparable systems
    • Solid understanding of USGAAP/Local GAAP
    • Solid understanding of internal control in financial process
    • Strong financial analytical skills to provide solutions
    • Strong business acumen
    • Excellent English and local language capabilities
    • Very good knowledge of ERP systems (Oracle or SAP), reporting systems (Hyperion), MS Excel
    • Excellent interpersonal relationship skills
    • Self-starter; strong initiative and drive for results
    • Ability to work under pressure
    • High flexibility and ability to multi-task
    • Ability to work in a matrix organization
