About This Role
The Regional Account Director (RAD) Southeast Territory (NC, SC, VA, TN) will lead market access activities across the broad range of accounts within the regional healthcare ecosystem. This role will be responsible for identifying and building relationships with traditional and emerging accounts. As Biogen’s single point of contact, the RAD will build long-term relationships with key accounts including, but not be limited to, Regional Payers, State Medicaid, Integrated Health Systems, Value-Based care entities, and Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs). A key objective of this role is to secure profitable access for Biogen’s growing portfolio. RADs have a deep understanding of local marketplace trends and use executive relationships to seek innovative ways to expand Biogen growth opportunities. The RAD leads regional and cross-functional internal collaboration, inclusive of regional and corporate business leaders, to drive execution that optimizes portfolio revenue, facilitates broad access (pharmacy and medical benefit), and maximizes patient outcomes. The RAD reports into the Director of Regional Accounts within Biogen’s Market Access & Reimbursement (MA&R) division.

What You’ll Do
- Healthcare Ecosystem: Demonstrates broad knowledge of the regional healthcare industry including emerging trends, evolving customer segments and developing policies impacting patient flow, product flow and dollar flow. Led managed of broad range of market access customers including Regional Payers, State Medicaid, Integrated Health Systems, Value-Based care entities, and Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs).
- Enterprise Execution: Collaborate to implement brand strategies across the organization including Marketing, Sales, Medical Affairs, Insights and Analytics, Payer Channel Marketing, and Patient Support to strategize and deliver portfolio value propositions. Actively engage with internal partners to influence market access strategy and stakeholder resources.
- Results Driven: Execute an enterprise approach to secure profitable access in both pharmacy and medical benefit design for all Biogen products with all insurer segments of the customer business. In addition, led execution and communicate effective pull-through initiatives that will drive successful contract performance through collaboration with franchise field leadership.
- Strategic Account Management: Lead account strategy in alignment with the development of Strategic Account Plans, by focusing on short (12-24 Months) and long term (2+ Years) strategic engagement and partnership objectives. Plans will include patient access objectives, business performance goals and outline overall strategic engagement and partnership plans.
- Cross-functional Leadership: Models the ability to influence others and lead without authority during complex situations, fostering collaborative problem-solving and reaching consensus. Experience in navigating diverse teams or stakeholders achieving common goals.
- Innovation through Co-Creation: Understands the pharmacoeconomic value of our industry-leading products and services, which will secure portfolio patient access and assist accelerating innovative customer initiatives.

Qualifications
Required Skills
- Minimum of seven years biotech/pharma experience required with preference in specialty biologics
- Five years in managed markets account management with a strong understanding of the regional healthcare ecosystem
- Working knowledge of regional payers, IDN/Integrated Health Systems, State Medicaid, PBMs, Specialty Pharmacies and Value-based care entities
- Experience working with provider-administered drugs and infusion site of care delivery settings
- Product launch experience in environments that require formulary committee decision making
- Expertise in pharmacy and medical benefits coverage policies is essential
Preferred Skills
- Experience with targeted regional ecosystem accounts.
- Exposure to Neurology, Immunology and Rare/Genetic Disease market access experience

Travel: Overnight travel of 10-15%

The base compensation range for this role is $180,000 – $270,000. Base salary is determined by a combination of factors including, but not limited to, job related years of relevant experience, internal equity, and location of the job. Additionally, this role is eligible for participation in Biogen’s LTI grants and other incentive programs.
