About This Role

The Director of Business Operations, Pharmaceutical Operations & Technology (PO&T), synthesizes technical, scientific (CMC), financial, and business information to provide insights to enable EVP PO&T decision-making. This includes decisions locally to PO&T and those requiring Executive Committee and/or Board level approval. In this high visibility role, you are responsible for technical and financial analysis required to enable critical strategic and investment decisions for the EVP of PO&T. This role collaborates with internal subject matter experts (SMEs) to support analysis and recommendations and is responsible for integrating external benchmarking and other relevant external comparators into analyses. You will collaborate across multiple disciplines (e.g. asset leads, supply chain, development, manufacturing) and partner with other business units (e.g. Research, Development, Business Development) to support conclusions and recommendations. In this role, you will lead and influence across internal and external stakeholders and customers to successfully deliver on objectives and timelines. This individual provides meaningful strategic, technical, financial, and thought leadership for long-term objectives across PO&T’s scope.

What You'll Do

  • Provide technical, financial, and business information insights in support of EVP PO&T decision making. May include due diligence for business development.
  • Lead technical and financial analysis to enable critical strategic and investment decisions. Includes recommendation development and cohesive integration of complex data and information.
  • Lead and influence across internal and external stakeholders and customers to successfully deliver on objectives and timelines.
  • Identify, develop, and foster relationships with outside partners and innovators to support and substantiate analyses.

Who You Are

You possess a scientific background (applied in CMC-Chemistry Manufacturing & Controls) but have a passion for business operations. You are someone who thrives when navigating the intersection of data, strategy, and operations. With a strong foundation in both the scientific/technological and financial domains, you are adept at learning and contributing across various disciplines. As a natural communicator and collaborator, you can easily convey intricate technical and financial concepts at all levels and drive leadership decision making. #LI-CC1

Qualifications

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field. 
  • 15+ years of experience in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, or a similarly regulated industry.
  • Previous experience in roles within science/process development or manufacturing operations. 
  • Proficient in distilling complex information to facilitate executive decision-making. 
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the capacity to articulate ideas effectively at all organizational levels. 
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate organizational dynamics and manage ambiguity. 
  • Skilled in integrating information across various business units. 
  • Quick to learn and adapt, with a talent for synthesizing information. 
  • A collaborative spirit, eager to understand and enhance business operations from multiple perspectives. 
  • Proactive in identifying risks and escalating them as needed.

Preferred Skills:

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration. 
  • Advanced expertise in data analysis tools and methodologies. 
  • Proven track record of fostering innovation through external partnerships.
  • Experience in guiding cross-functional teams to achieve strategic objectives
