Job Description

The Contract Specialist will lead and/or provide support to procurement Category Managers and stakeholders to draft, evaluate, revise, negotiate and execute a wide variety of contracts covering purchase of goods and services consistent with the Global Procurement and Global contract review policies.

The Contract Specialist will collaborate very closely with Category Managers and stakeholders in the management of supplier contracts through the contract lifecycle. The Contract Specialist will maintain records of established contracts and those in progress in Biogen contract repository.

The role reports to Contract Manager in GBS Global Procurement organization.

 

This role is in hybrid work model. Please note that this role requires a candidate to be a holder of work permit & residency in Poland.

What you will do

  • Support stakeholders to process contracts for execution
  • Revise contracts for products and services
  • Support and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure contracts adhere to our contract management policies and procedures
  • Identify key contract terms and conditions. Work with other departments including Legal on matters requiring business input or escalation with a focus on a quick turn-around
  • Perform a contract review (including terms and conditions) independently and in accordance with the rules of engagement
  • Where appropriate during contract review include other key stakeholders and propose appropriate contractual set-up and counter-terms utilizing existing learnings
  • Perform a contract handover to the execution/stakeholder team, ensuring their understanding of key contractual aspects
  • Draft contractual correspondence as required
  • Develop internal knowledge resources, corporate tools, templates, processes, systems, and guidelines
  • Proofread, edit, and fact-check contract documents for completion, consistency, and accuracy
  • Create, run, and distribute contract information reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly).

Qualifications

Who you are

  • a holder of Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Law or qualifications as a paralegal
  • 2 years of contracting experience in a company or a law firm (multinational organization nice to have)
  • experienced in drafting contracts, managing contract reviews and negotiating contract terms and conditions under limited supervision
  • experienced with Contract Management workflow and systems
  • experience in procurement function nice to have
  • experience with Biotech or related industry nice to have
  • possess excellent written comprehension and verbal communication skills. You are able to present information in a clear and concise manner
  • strong in collaboration skills with ability to build effective relationships and influence internal and external stakeholder groups of varying levels of seniority
  • strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize, organize and multitask in an agile and fast paced environment
  • have a strong attention to detail
  • demonstrate good business judgement
  • well versed with MS Office Suite
  • proficiency in English (written and spoken)
