Associate Director, Commerical Data Reporting Lead

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Reporting Lead to drive the strategy, execution, and optimization of data reporting and analytics solutions within our organization. This role will lead the development of scalable and actionable reporting to support commercial, medical, market access, and corporate functions. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in pharmaceutical data, analytics, and visualization tools, coupled with strong leadership skills to drive the creation and adoption of these reporting solutions.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and governance of reporting solutions across commercial teams.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders (Sales, Marketing, Market Access, Finance, and Medical Affairs) to understand business needs and translate them into reporting strategies.
  • Oversee the implementation of BI and analytics tools (mainly Power BI) to drive self-service reporting and advanced insights.
  • Optimize data workflows, automating manual reporting processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Lead and mentor a team of analysts and reporting professionals to foster innovation and excellence.
  • Partner with IT and Data Engineering teams to enhance data infrastructure for reporting and analytics.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, pharmaceutical data sources (IQVIA, Symphony, CMS, etc.), and emerging technologies in analytics.
  • Drive the adoption of AI and predictive analytics to enhance business intelligence capabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and privacy requirements (HIPAA, GDPR, etc.) when handling healthcare and patient data.

Required Skills

  • 10+ years of experience in data reporting, analytics, or business intelligence, with a strong background in pharmaceutical or biotech industries.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience, managing teams and stakeholders across commercial, medical, and market access functions.
  • Strong knowledge of pharma data sources (e.g., IQVIA, Symphony, Flatiron, Truven, claims, EMR/EHR data).
  • Expertise in BI tools (Power BI) and SQL-based querying.
  • Experience in data governance, quality management, and compliance frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of commercial pharma operations, including sales, marketing analytics, and payer/reimbursement landscapes.
  • Ability to translate complex data insights into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Snowflake, Databricks) is a plus.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
