Our vision for Medication Management Solutions at BD

With our technical capabilities, the Medication Management Solutions (MMS) team can manage multiple systems, and our operational capabilities enable us to have medications available when and where needed, reducing inefficiency and waste for nursing and pharmacy teams.

About the role

Medication safety & automation represents a strategic growth area for BD. The Workflow Optimisation Consultant is responsible for the customer experience, workflow optimisation, support, (training) and education of BD's Automation customer base, who have invested in solutions in order to improve workflows and outcomes. This role is key in developing relationships with our key customers to ensure value realisation.

You will work with Sales, Solutions, Marketing, Technical and Clinical colleagues to make sure that the customer has the best customer experience, developing deep and trusted relationships within the hospital environment.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Responsible for ensuring an industry-leading customer experience.
  • Provides process consultation and workflow analysis of existing processes within the medication management and supply chain systems.
  • Identifies current areas of inefficiency or patient/provider safety concerns, drug diversion opportunities, regulatory non-compliance and as a result identifies solutions, new revenue streams, cost reduction, etc.
  • Performs workflow redesign with practice change recommendations and accompanying BD solutions to facilitate the achievement of industry-standard processes and customer strategic goals.
  • Provides clinical consulting support primarily for sales to develop customer-specific strategic BD solution roadmaps. Remains engaged through customer lifecycle both through scheduled regular optimisation visits
  • Collaborates and builds collaborative partnerships with all members of the Sales, Marketing, Product Research and Development, Interface, Implementation, and support teams, Customer Advocacy, and Training teams.
  • Functions as the voice of the Customer.
  • Collaborates with Solution Managers and Marketing to collect pre- and post-install data, as well as data throughout the customer lifecycle, to support Evidence Generation and ROI activities.
  • Applies up-to-date healthcare industry knowledge to provide clinical input for new product development and software enhancements.
  • Workflow improvement / SOP's using recognised process improvement practice.
  • Collaborate with service support organisation in troubleshooting activities at customer sites in case of issues and provide timely and accurate verbal and written feedback to management and commercial teams on specific issues. Lead cross-team collaboration to develop data analytics and critical metric models for medicine optimisation.
  • Provide data insights and business intelligence for Connected Medication Management by leveraging data analytics services.
  • Lead solution workshops and discovery sessions for data analytics to recommend the best-fit solutions for Connected Medication Management.
  • Responsible for maximizing customer value/satisfaction by aligning complex product solutions & services with key customer initiatives.
  • Proactively and with a regular cadence, demonstrate to the client the defined value of partnering with BD MMS pre-and post-sales.

The role will require travel across the UK/I & Nordics in support of colleagues & customers as needed, including overnight travel to meetings, training courses and conferences outside of the Region will be necessary from time to time.

The position is remote, with travel to customer sites in the territory within the Hub.

Estimated travel: ca. 50-70%

About you

  • We are looking for individuals with a Pharmacy degree or equivalent experience in nursing, pharmacy IT, or pharmacy tech. Experience in medication management in oncology, distribution, and clinical services is required. Clinical informatics background advantageous.
  • Excellent customer interaction skills with the ability to communicate and influence at all levels.
  • 5 Year's Experience in Clinical or Hospital Pharmacy Services.
  • Diligent and analytical, able to interpret data and recommend conclusions drawn from data
  • Lean certification is desirable, and demonstrating lean thinking is a minimum requirement.
  • Experience in continuous improvement projects is desirable.
  • Proactive and goal-oriented with the ability to take initiative and the courage to motivate change.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
  • Flexible attitude and ability to handle changing priorities.
  • Current driving license.
