SUMMARY
The Vice President/General Manager Integrated Diagnostic Solutions EMEA ("VP/GM") is a supervisory role reporting directly to the EVP, President EMEA. This role is responsible for leading, developing and implementing Marketing, Sales, and Support strategies for the Integrated Diagnostic Solutions (IDS) Business Unit for the EMEA market, ($1B) in revenue.
Responsibilities will include setting and executing the three-year strategic, operational and financial plan for the IDS Business Unit, setting ambitious financial targets and achieving profitable growth, above market growth, conducting new market / opportunity analysis and building and engaging a highly effective team. The VP/GM will be a member of the EMEA Leadership Team and of the WW (Specimen Management, Diagnostic Solutions) Leadership Teams.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
• Develop or maintain a solid understanding of the EMEA market, including the Specimen Management and Diagnostic Solutions markets, current environment as well as future trends and its competitive landscape.
• Develop a strategic understanding / relationships with key customers. Effectively engage network of key influencers to drive strategic health care policy directions
• Develop the three (3) year strategic, operating and financial plan for the EMEA business that identifies and executes against new growth opportunities.
• Execute the annual operating plan including meeting sales, GP, expense and working capital metrics.
• Work with global business leaders to define new opportunities for entry into our product development funnel in defining the value proposition and in identifying areas of synergy.
• Partners with leaders across platforms, regions, R&D, manufacturing, quality, regulatory, and finance to understand, develop and implement the strategic agenda through operational planning, process development / implementation and implementation of key projects.
• Develop and implement the organizational capability plan in support of the strategy, creating a highly customer centric organization demonstrated via personal leadership.
• Work closely with peer regional VP/GMs to support country organizations to implement strategic priorities as defined under the regional Commercial Excellence program. Drive rigorous discipline in sales excellence and adherence to SFDC.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive sales and marketing reporting systems to track critical key business objectives in the area of sales, marketing, and operational results.
• Member of the EMEA Leadership Team and of the WW (Specimen Management, Diagnostic Solutions) Leadership Teams.
• Directly responsible for leading, managing, developing and motivating the performance of a EMEA Marketing Sr. Director, Commercial Excellence & Strategy Sr Director, Assoc Dir Business Process Excellence, and Business Manager Industrial Microbiology, co-leading dedicated Country Business Leaders / HUB BU directors.
• Determine/set and monitor regional product pricing corridors and policies for sales of the IDS Business Unit products in the EMEA market.
• Participate in the company's overall marketing and strategic planning programs for the IDS Business Unit, and perform oversight and decision-making functions over the following activities for the region, with support from Marketing Directors and Country Business Leaders, and in accordance with agreed business plans:
• Development of promotion campaigns.
• Development of marketing material.
• Establishing guidelines for accounts handling.
• Establishing guidelines for customer acceptance.
• Be aware of market conditions, pricing trends and the effectiveness of pricing actions; consult with process owner regarding all new and existing pricing plans to ensure regional pricing harmony and local competitiveness.
• As necessary, partner with all stakeholders in providing the appropriate services in terms of product portfolio management, product launch, communication, pricing, business development, etc.
• Identify acquisition targets in the region that can potentially have an immediate, visible impact on BD's profit margin and growth rate in the region.
• Build capabilities to enable business development in the region; and ensure business development is central to the long-term strategic process / ASR process for the business in the region.
Education
University bachelor's degree in business administration. MBA or equivalent business experience preferred.
Experiences
• Ten (10) years of increasingly responsible experience in Sales and Marketing, including a minimum of five (5) years of management experience. Preferably five (5) years relevant experience in the medical devices and capital equipment markets.
• Mastery of marketing, selling and new business development skills.
