Our Public Affairs strategy aims to understand public health needs and effectively position our portfolio with customers. About the role
As the Vice President Public Affairs - EMEA, you will play a crucial role in advancing our government relations initiatives within the region. You will collaborate with public health policy and market access teams to ensure alignment on priorities and drive a cohesive approach to policymakers. This is an outstanding opportunity for a proven leader to craft our strategic direction and improve our competitive edge in the market.
Main responsibilities will include:
- Develop, drive, and implement Public Affairs strategies to reduce risk and support growth within the EMEA region.
- Shape government policies to reduce barriers to market entry and ensure reasonable requirements related to regulatory and environmental policies.
- Educate policymakers about BD's regional presence and investments, driving engagement with government officials.
- Support public health policy initiatives and programs intersecting with BD capabilities and policymaker priorities.
- Partner with international and community affairs leaders to develop regional partnerships.
- Develop consistent messaging to elevate BD's profile and drive Public Affairs strategies.
- Increase leadership opportunities for BD within EU-level and country-level associations.
- Sense and interpret policy trends to identify opportunities for growth and manage risk.
- Define the EMEA Public Affairs strategy in alignment with BD's global policy positions.
- Convene Public Affairs associates in EMEA to support regional Public Affairs priorities, share best practices and promote capacity building. Hire, coach and develop talent and build Public Affairs capacity as required.
- Create Public Affairs plans with detail metrics and milestones to ensure alignment of Public Affairs support with BD 2025/BD 2030 and annual strategic goals.
About you
You are a leader with a unique perspective and a vision for success. Your business insight and competence in understanding EMEA government systems at both the country and EU levels are unparalleled. Your extensive knowledge of healthcare systems across the region is detailed.
- 15+ years of experience in government relations, market access, or policy fields with a focus on healthcare.
- Extensive knowledge of EMEA government systems at the country and EU-level coupled with political and organizational savviness.
- Proven track record of contributing to growth through crafting a favorable policy environment.
- Demonstrated capability in leading teams of senior leaders and collaborating effectively with diverse associates and corporate functions.
- Excellent oral and written communication capabilities that have been leveraged with external customers, internal stakeholders and senior leadership.
- BA/BS or equivalent experience required; advanced degree or equivalent experience desirable.
