About the role
We are looking for Territory & Application specialists to join our team in West Africa. The purpose of this role will be to grow sales by driving the adoption of our diagnostic systems within targeted accounts and healthcare professionals (HCPs). The candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies to promote our products and solutions through technical training sessions and hands-on demonstrations at hospitals/clinics and laboratories across their assigned territory.
Main responsibilities will include:
- Develop and implement marketing plans aligned with business objectives to increase brand awareness and drive product adoption among HCPs within your assigned territory.
- Provide technical support to customers by conducting on-site demos and presentations showcasing the features and benefits of our diagnostic systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as marketing, clinical resources, regulatory, customer service agents and product managers to ensure smooth operations and effective communication channels between field staff and internal customers.
- Supervise sales performance metrics and provide feedback to management regarding areas for improvement in terms of sales strategy efficiency or prioritisation.
- Implement the distribution strategy - evaluate, select, manage and develop distributors by region and product line. Provide indirect leadership and mentoring for distributor management and staff including developing product knowledge; teamwork; and providing ongoing feedback and mentor on performance and development.
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitors' activities, and new technologies related to diagnostics.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, market intelligence reports, and sales data using CRM software.
- Build relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) within the medical community to advocate for the use of our products and stay updated on evolving clinical practices.
- Assist in coordinating events such as conferences, webinars, and workshops to educate HCPs about our offerings and foster engagement with potential buyers.
About you
- Degree or equivalent experience; preferably in medical technology or life sciences; however a relevant sales marketing or business related qualification will be considered, dependent upon professional experience.
- Must have at least 5 years business, sales and distributor management experience in clinical Microbiology.
- Knowledge in and ability to deal with key opinion leaders (KOL's).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Will be able to demonstrate proven success in sales and marketing and developing effective distribution networks in West Africa within an International Company.
- Organized, diligent, and self-motivated.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience in blood collection and culture processes and procedures.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation mode. Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory to get in touch with potential customers and deliver training sessions.
- Ability to speak English fluently.
