Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the SQA department adheres to Health & Safety (H&S) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards.
  • Lead, direct, and prioritize daily activities for the SQA Technicians, including incoming inspection, raw material management, quality metrics, and blocked stock management.
  • Support and mentor SQA team members through regular one-to-one meetings, performance reviews, and career development.
  • Oversee administrative tasks such as clock-card management, holiday requests, and performance reviews.
  • Provide hands-on support for SQA Technician activities, including material rejection investigations as required.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain, Production, Engineering, and Compliance teams to address raw material quality issues, shortages, line trials, and non-conforming materials.
  • Attend and facilitate supplier meetings (on-site or virtually) to resolve raw material concerns and ensure supplier alignment.
  • Update Quality Management System (QMS) documentation, raw material specifications, and associated records to comply with site-wide projects and change control processes.
  • Assist in preparing quality metrics for internal and external management reviews.
  • Identify and drive process improvements using Kaizen Action Sheets (KAS) to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Support supplier quality activities alongside the Supplier Quality Engineer.

Education & Experience:

  • CQI (Chartered Quality Institute) certification or progress towards it.
  • Proven leadership experience (preferred).
  • Experience in manufacturing environments with prior quality control (QC) exposure.
  • Strong background in building relationships with suppliers and customers to deliver measurable improvements.
  • Familiarity with inspection, measuring, and testing equipment.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn specialized software (knowledge of Minitab is desirable).
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in fast-paced environments.
  • Analytical mindset with experience in data analysis, trending, and reporting.
  • Skilled in communication, negotiation, leadership, and change management.
  • Working knowledge of SAP systems.
