Urology & Critical Care (U.CC) is one of the fastest growing business units in the BD-Interventional Segment, and has 4 platforms - Acute Urology, Endo Urology, Home Care and Targeted Temperature Management.

U.C.C employs more than 1,000 people around the world and is headquartered in Covington, Georgia, just outside of Atlanta. The company has engineering design centers in Atlanta, Denver, Ireland, China & India, as well as numerous manufacturing facilities, located in US, Malaysia, and Mexico.

Job Summary:

The Sr. Program Manager in Innovation will play a pivotal role in driving cross-functional efforts to advance complex innovation projects through the innovation funnel. This position will also contribute to strategic deliverables such as the portfolio roadmap and community building initiatives to cultivate a culture of innovation at U.C.C. The Sr. Program Manager will collaborate closely with key functions including R&D, Medical Affairs, and Marketing, ensuring strong strategic alignment with Platform and Functional Leadership at UCC.

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the Sr. Innovation Program Manager, practicing Biodesign and leading with cross-functional efforts to move complex innovation projects along the funnel. This includes

    • Following the Innovation Playbook and prepare gate recommendations;
    • Partnering closely with Marketing, R&D, Med Affairs and Business Development team members for thorough opportunity assessment and technical development;
    • Managing key timelines and mile stones for innovation projects, as well as budget
    • Communicating with critical stake holders in business to ensure strategic alignment, including Platform and Functional Leadership at UCC.
  • Delivers and updates Urology Portfolio Roadmap in close partnership with critical functions in the business
  • Establishes UCC Innovation Community activities to empower associates contributing to innovation
  • Conducts comprehensive transfer of Innovation projects to Global Product Development for flawless implementation
  • Mentors Innovation Engineers in the group and drives a culture of innovation at UCC
  • Hosts and coordinates innovation training events to empower UCC's innovation engine

Requirements

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree in Science or Engineering with commercial or clinical competence
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience with an R&D (engineering, bio design, or science) background in medical industry required
  • Experience in medical device industry preferred
  • 5+ years experience training in Biodesign, Design Thinking, Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) or equivalent programs.
  • 5+ years experience in innovation or creative product development processes.
  • Proven experience in program management, particularly in innovation or related fields
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex cross-function initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to develop deep, rigorous analysis that drives growth opportunity identification, strategy development or technology/product decision making
  • Demonstrated ability to independently identify, prioritize and successfully advocate for opportunities to drive growth
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Global mentality and strong cultural awareness
