Job Description Summary
The Sr. Manufacturing Unit Process Engineer is responsible for develop and improve manufacturing processes and engineering activities to support day to day operations, new product development and/or existing product enhancement. Analyze situations, to improve manufacturing capacity, cost reduction and continuous improvement.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- 1. Develops systems to identify and measure key performance indicators (uptime, downtime, scrap, yield).
- 2. Evaluates and identifies key site capacity constraints and provides timely solutions to resolve.
- 3. Uses Lean tools to measure, understand, and improve process variability and efficiency.
- 4. Manages related capital projects adhering to budget and schedule constraints.
- 5. Identifies critical equipment setting and creation of work standards.
- 6. Creates technical knowledge for the manufacturing unit and transfers the knowledge to the operator and technical associates.
- 7. Coaches associates on continuous improvement methodologies within the manufacturing unit.
- 8. Understands top losses within the manufacturing unit and develops and implements plans to eliminate losses and drive OEE performance.
- 9. Responsible for manufacturing unit change control including validation activities, root cause analysis of prioritized OEE losses, and quality deviations.
- 10. Prepare work instruction / training material for process.
- 11. Lead and execute process validation and compile completion result; develop standards for material or process changes.
- 12. Lead in problem solving using continuous improvement methodologies and tools.
- 13. Implements and sustains BD Excellence work process for the manufacturing unit.
- 14. Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and best practices, and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures.
- 15. Perform other tasks as required.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Engineering Degree in Industrial, Mechatronic, Electronic, Electrical, or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Troubleshooting / Problem Solving - Advanced
- PLC experience preferred.
- Organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines and high-level goals.
- Strong leadership skills to be able to manage time, and a problem solver.
- Ability to influence and build good working relationships according to BD Values.
- Effective Oral/written Communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Bilingual English and Spanish (preferred).
