Job Description Summary
For our software development team in Vienna we are looking for a Software Engineer (m/f/d) with expertise in Python and Dart/Flutter framework to extend our team of professionals who are working on software applications in BD's Pharmacy Automation sector. In your role you will be instrumental in developing and enhancing software applications around BD's blister devices. Your contribution will directly impact the healthcare industry, making it easier for healthcare professionals to provide high quality care. You will work in cross-functional, international, and highly motivated teams to turn our visions into reality.
We are flexible! This position can be either full time or part time based on need and individual agreement.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, test and maintain high-quality software using Python programming language.
- Participate in the entire software development lifecycle, building, testing and delivering high-quality solutions
- Work with the R&D teams on a daily basis (e.g. 'stand-ups')
- Work with product owners to validate new enhancement interoperability with established functionality
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and solve complex problems
- Write clean and reusable code that can be easily maintained and scaled
- Develop cohesive interpersonal working relationships with all peers and team members
- Work with source code management tools and work tracking tools (e.g. Azure DevOps)
- Other duties as assigned
Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or equivalent work experience
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with communication and collaboration skills
- Minimum 5 of years experience with object-oriented language primarily Python
- Experience with PostGreSQL database development
- Experience with REST Architecture
- Experience working in a dynamic and agile environment
- Familiarity with Dart/Flutter frameworks
- "Self-starter" attitude and the ability to make decisions independently with a passion for innovation
- English fluency is required
- Experience working with Azure DevOps
- Experience working in a healthcare or similarly regulated environment is preferred
- Experience with agile methodologies (e.g. Scrum, SAFe)
- Willingness to travel occasionally

The minimum annual gross salary for this position is €60.000 (annual full-time basis, based on ST1/Einstiegsstufe 2025 IT KV). Based on individual skills and experience, we offer appropriate additional payment.
