Our vision forFacilities and Office Operationsat BD

The European Facilities and Office Operations unit at Becton Dickinson (BD), is responsible for managing and optimizing BD's physical infrastructure and office environments across Europe. This includes leading all aspects of the maintenance, safety, and efficiency of BD's facilities, ensuring that they meet regulatory standards and support the company's operational needs.

About the role

As the Site Services Manager Benelux, you'll be responsible for and support business functions at our Erembodegem office. Your responsibilities include Facilities Management, Supplier Relationship Management, regional fleet services, Reception Services, Company Credit Card applications, Travel Services, Data Privacy, User Access Management, and Site EH&S Management.

You'll collaborate with regional and global teams like Finance, HR, and Supply Chain, and be part of the Site Management Forum and European Facilities Team, showcasing leadership across Europe.

Safety is our top priority. You'll need a proven track record in safety management, delivering improvements through positive engagement and reinforcement.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Maintenance Program Management:Lead all aspects of maintenance programs for all facilities and utilities-related equipment.
  • Cost Centre Management: Maintain spending records for assigned projects against approved budgets (Common and Buildings Budget).
  • Resource Conservation: Develop and implement programs for conserving electricity, water, gas, etc.
  • Capacity Monitoring: Supervise capacity and determine additional utilities required for new equipment installations, aiming for duty/standby setups where possible.
  • EHS Best Practices: Apply Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) best practices in assigned projects.
  • Project Planning and Execution: Prepare detailed project plans and ensure achievements are delivered on time for all facilities-related projects.
  • Environmental Compliance: Maintain the ISO14001 system and Trade Effluent license with the Environmental Management Team's assistance. Stay updated on National and E.U. Environmental legislation and identify areas of non-conformity.
  • Personnel Management: Lead site services, reception, facilities, and utilities personnel as the need arises.
  • Procurement Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities align with BD policies.
  • Project Compliance: Ensure all facilities project work is completed compliantly regarding execution and documentation.

About you

  • Educational Background:Engineering degree or equivalent experience in Facilities Management preferred.
  • EH&S Expertise: Solid understanding in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) specific to commercial or manufacturing environments.
  • Senior Experience: Confirmed senior experience in facilities and utilities management within a high-service commercial environment.
  • Technical Skills: Experience in maintaining and installing new facilities and utilities equipment, as well as supporting customer service and training centers.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills in English and Dutch.
  • Project Leadership: Experience in leading facilities-related projects.
  • Proven people management skills
