Job Description Summary
The Shift Production Leader is responsible for leading associates in an engaged manner to achieve desired results in an assigned manufacturing unit. Lead day-to-day activities of the unit by coaching associates on a continuous improvement path in their daily manufacturing activities to achieve desired results.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Promptly address any safety issues or incidents.
- Lead daily production operations.
- Ensure that the manufactured products meet the established quality requirements.
- Responsible for maintaining personnel and training plans within the business unit.
- Provide regular, timely, and specific feedback to associates.
- Provide a learning environment and challenge associates to meet higher expectations.
- Implement BD Excellence components and programs within the manufacturing unit.
- Ensure that an open flow of communication exists between production associates and management. Represent concerns of production associates to management as well as management concerns to production associates.
- Ensure fair and consistent application of company and departmental policies and practices. Work with associates to resolve employee relations issues and concerns; involves HR when necessary.
- Actively participate and support continuous improvement activities.
- Collaborate with Production Planning to establish production schedules, monitor performance versus schedule for the department.
- Track the production metrics to ensure that department goals are being met. Communicate the metrics and progress to associates and management.
- Train associates to be responsible for safety, quality, production, costs, cleanliness and compliance with general policies.
- Ensure that safety and quality standards are achieved and drive production performance to meet objectives and schedules.
- Ensure compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and best practices, and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures.
- Perform other tasks as required.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field.
- 1-3 years of experience supervising personnel in a manufacturing environment.Organizational and manage time skills to meet deadlines and high-level goals.
- Ability to influence and build good working relationships according to BD Values.
- Effective oral/written communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Bilingual English and Spanish (preferred).
