We are searching for a Senior Staff Product Owner to join our MMS Pharmacy Automation team to support our Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, and machine learning central team. The Sr Staff Product Owner works at multiple levels to define the team's product roadmap & strategy, manage & prioritize their backlog in the SAFE Agile workflow, and generate software development requirements, features, user stories, and tasks for the team to execute against. In addition, the Sr Staff PO serves as a subject matter expert in their field with depth and breadth of experience, knowledge and skills in algorithm development, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data science.

Key Responsibilities

  • Function as dual ML/AI/DS technical product manager and product owner in harmonized waterfall & SAFe agile development environment
  • Define the ML/AI/DS team's strategy to serve the Pharmacy Automation global product base in a way that facilitates successful uptake of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data science initiatives
  • Collaborate with pharmacists and subject matter experts to write product requirement documents, create business process and dataflow models and sketch wireframes
  • Stay informed about market trends, regulatory requirements, competitor capabilities, and emerging technologies in pharmacy operations and healthcare analytics.
  • Translate high-level business objectives and industry insights into actionable product strategies.
  • Work hand-in-hand with the Software Delivery Lead to define the product delivery roadmap for the AI team
  • Collaborate with other product managers & delivery leads from platform portfolios to determine the most prevalent market issues to address and prioritize them into a central development roadmap to best serve the business
  • Write and prioritize all the features and user stories to support AI initiatives, maintain a sufficient backlog for current and next release, and forward-looking strategic roadmap.
  • Collaborate with Product Security & DevSecOps teams to ensure development & data management best practices
  • Support SW Quality in test planning by identifying testability requirements and supporting review of test cases and defects, as needed.
  • Act as a key contributor in a complex environment, share expertise with others, and work independently with minimal guidance.
  • Collaborate with engineering and QA teams to ensure timely, quality delivery of product increments.
  • Communicate product goals, progress, and performance updates to senior leadership and key stakeholders, bridging the gap between technical teams and executive decision-makers.
  • Maintain and update necessary documentation for regulatory reviews, audits, and certification processes.
  • Define and track key product metrics (e.g., error reduction, time savings, inventory optimization, user adoption, and cost efficiencies) to evaluate product success.
  • Leverage analytics and user feedback to drive iterative improvements, feature enhancements, and AI model fine-tuning.
  • Initiate pilots, A/B testing, and clinical evaluations to validate product effectiveness and inform ongoing optimization.

Skills and Experience

  • 3+ years of product management or product owner experience in healthcare technology, pharmacy automation, or a closely related field.
  • Prior experience in AI/ML product development
  • Experience working in systems engineering and/or software requirements engineering / product ownership, understanding of functional and non-functional requirements
  • In-depth knowledge of Agile process and principles; experience working in Lean/Agile software development teams; experience operating within design control.
  • Experience in or ability to leverage Product Management and Development tools such as Azure Dev Ops, Aha!, Jira, or equivalent
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and leadership skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Creative thinker with a vision
  • Attention to detail
