About the role

As a Senior Scientist, you will be at the forefront of creating and developing specialised devices, software solutions and systems to help others. You are the one who can make the difference.

This involves contributing to multidisciplinary teams that demonstrate BD Biosciences capabilities, including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry, Single-Cell Multi-Omics, NGS technologies, immune-oncology, and Immunology.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Contribute to BDB innovation, including both application and technology development. The successful candidate will contribute to new ideation, development, and execution of novel applications or technologies in alignment with BDB's Growth Strategy.
  • Participates in ongoing innovation pipeline planning, requirements gathering, and development initiatives. The ATG scientist works on projects of diverse scope where key team members inside and outside of BD will be required. Good communication is essential.
  • ATG scientists are encouraged to eventually attain Subject Matter Expert (SME) status and may serve as advisors on various projects.
  • Engages with customers and the scientific community, communicating BD's newest technologies and garnering an understanding of the highest-priority unmet needs.
  • Work closely with the ATG team to test new concepts and technologies and ensure that the designs meet technical needs.
  • Exercise sound, independent judgment and apply systems thinking, problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting to generate innovative ideas to improve BD products or processes.
  • Conduct experiments using BD Biosciences technologies and apply strong knowledge in scientific principles, immunology, sample manipulations, and/or immunoassays to influence best practice laboratory procedures and study designs.

About you

  • Ph.D. degree in Biology, Bioengineering or related discipline required.
  • Experience with Spatial Sequencing Analysis, Single Cell Sequencing and Data Analysis (using Python or R Language).
  • Experience in high-dimensional/Multiomics data acquisition and analysis.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Creative problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with flow cytometry, single-cell and/or spatial multiomics techniques.
  • Experience in designing and implementing novel technologies and/or applications.
  • Experience working with software for flow cytometers or other related omics devices.
  • Experience analysing high-dimensional Omics data.
