As Senior Manager, Strategic Innovation, you will be responsible for leading the upstream marketing efforts primarily focused on new product innovation for the Specimen Management business.

The Senior Manager of Strategic Innovation is a critical role within Specimen Management. This person will be a member of a dedicated cross-functional strategic innovation team (including R&D and medical affairs), responsible for developing and delivering upon the innovation strategy to drive transformational growth opportunities. High-potential candidates should have strong leadership qualities and competency. This individual will be leading efforts among strong cross functional teams.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of assigned projects including strategy development, requirements gathering, technical design, execution, testing, documentation, training, and support. Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Work closely with cross-functional team members to ensure seamless integration between technology and business processes.
  • Serve as liaison between project team and other functional areas of organization.
  • Identify risks early and develop mitigation plans. Monitor progress against plan and adjust as needed.
  • Provide regular updates on project status, issues, risks, and dependencies to senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define scope and goals for each project.
  • Define success criteria for each project and measure performance against those criteria.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives around process, tools, and methodologies.
  • Lead internal and external resources to meet overall project objectives.

About You:

  • Minimum bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience required in marketing, sales or business development; minimum of 2 years of experience leading projects in medical device or healthcare environment preferred; innovation marketing is preferred.
  • Proven ability in leading projects of varying size and complexity to successful completion.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects involving multiple functions, vendors, and geographies.
  • Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and change control processes.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels within an organization, including C-level executives, and with external stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated and able to operate independently as well as part of a team
