Job Description Summary

This role will be joining the PIVC Platform as part of the Value Chain Excellence team in Medication Delivery Solutions (MDS).

Reporting to the Senior Manager, PIVC and AAD Value Chain Excellence, this role provides management of the portfolio of Cost Excellence programs & projects for the Peripheral Intervention and Vascular Care (PIVC). The primary focus of this role is identifying and implementing cost reduction capabilities and strategies across the platform, developing the rolling pipeline of programs & projects that stabilize & improve product costs while maintaining or improving product quality & the customer experience. Projects may include improvements to product designs, materials, architecture, supply chain, or manufacturing processes.

This role will have responsibility for identifying Cost Excellence programs across the network, collaborating with all functions and regions of the PIVC business (Regional Business, Procurement, Operations, Quality, R&D, Medical, Regulatory, Marketing, Sales, and Supply Chain) and evolving ideas through the pipeline to assure projects are developed to meet cost targets, approved by the business to meet BD requirements and GP goals. The selected candidate will provide oversight and reporting of program progress and financial analysis to senior management & the MDS leadership team.

This is accomplished through:

  • Identification of the future state for each product with the cost, capabilities, and structure needed
  • Development of ASR pipeline of projects/programs that assure cost targets are met or exceeded
  • Demonstrate clear accountability for identifying new opportunities, partnering with other functions, and developing business cases
  • Demonstrate leadership, learning agility, and action orientation when facing uncertainty or ambiguity. Instill confidence through leadership and actions.
  • Contribute to a culture of innovation by generating ideas to improve current processes that drive down/stabilize costs and/or enhance current products' ability to address customer needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to act as a change protagonist

Requirements:

The successful candidate will have proven manufacturing leadership experience and the ability to deliver results in larger matrix organizations. Required experience includes:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Science, or Engineering. A Graduate degree is preferred but not required.

Experience:

  • 5-7 years of progressive experience in Manufacturing and/or Continuous Improvement. Will have demonstrated ability to develop and successfully implement a strategy.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as solid interpersonal skills are crucial to success in this role. Demonstrated ability to influence others and work across all levels of BD to gain support and drive team results is key in our matrixed organization.
  • Must demonstrate very strong initiative and effectiveness with minimal supervision. Ability to lead/manage multiple initiatives across multiple plants simultaneously is vital to success in this role.
  • The candidate is/will become proficient in Manufacturing Financial Budgeting/Reporting Processes.
  • Demonstrated track-record of strong analytical & creative problem-solving, including structuring problems, performing detailed analysis, and developing recommendations for consensus.
  • Project Management Certification (PMI) preferred or working towards certification
  • Six Sigma, Lean or Agile certification or expertise preferred but not required.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Breadth of knowledge & working experience with or in numerous roles/functions within the Product Development/Manufacturing/Quality/Continuous Improvement functional areas
  • Demonstrated experience with all phases of the Design Control process:

    • Demonstrated understanding of the change management process, experience in developing design inputs, design verification strategy and implementation.
    • Demonstrated understanding of project risk management methodologies.
    • Understanding of manufacturing process validation including FAI/FAT, process development and IQ/OQ/PQ
  • Ensure compliance with BD quality policies, procedures, and practices
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, federal, and BD safety regulations, policies, and procedures
