Our vision for IDS at BD

By aligning and simplifying our work, our Integrated Diagnostic Solutions (IDS) business unit aims to drive growth and innovation around everything from integrated specimen management to diagnostic solutions.

About the role

The Product Manager will be responsible to define customer requirements and market needs for new or existing products, develop business case, and lead product development process including defining scope of project, preparing specification documents, providing inputs on technical design and packaging, leading clinical studies, reviewing promotional materials and ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies' guidelines during all stages of the product life cycle.

They will work closely with internal stakeholders such as sales & commercial teams, medical affairs, supply chain, legal, finance, quality assurance, & regulatory affairs as well as external customers (clinicians, laboratories) to ensure that our products meet their expectations and are commercially successful.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Understands and anticipates customer needs and expectation through close interaction with sales team and key customers.
  • Leads cross functional projects involving R&D, Marketing, Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance, & Medical Affairs.
  • Conducts research to identify new product opportunities based on knowledge of customer needs, competitive landscape, and market trends.
  • Creates and maintains product roadmap for assigned product line(s).
  • Works with other departments to gather input for product development activities.
  • Analyzes customer complaints to identify issues and propose solutions.
  • Creates and implements brand strategies.
  • Active involvement in financial processes (budget, financial projections, ASR, demand planning)
  • Develops value proposition for the portfolio and sales tools
  • Leads product registrations with local regulatory affairs team
  • Leads new product launches
  • Manages portfolio pricing, market development strategic solution through campaigns, events, KOL advocacy

About you

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, science or equivalent education required
  • Relevant experience in a laboratory setting within healthcare industry.
  • Understanding of the product development lifecycle from concept to launch.
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Analytical abilities with a strong sense of business understanding.
