Reporting to the Associate Director - Supply Chain Procurement, and closely partnering with Global Category Manager Air & Ocean Freight, the Procurement Manager is responsible for strategic and tactical procurement activities within the Global Air & Ocean Freight Category with annual spend of USD 200M+. The role serves as a Global Procurement Business Partner for the Global Transportation and Regional Supply Chain functions, providing procurement leadership and sourcing execution to all Businesses and sites, and actively leads relationships with defined suppliers on tactical and strategic levels.

About the role

BD Procurement Group is committed to keeping the customer at the center of our activities. Our team strives to continuously deliver the highest-sustained value for our company by leveraging our full competitive supply base using highly effective and efficient systems and processes.

In this role, you will be responsible for actively managing relationships with Supply Chain, business, and support function partners, ensuring alignment of priorities and needs across the organization. You will demonstrate strong technical knowledge, business sense and data analytic capability to integrate sourcing, category and business strategies as well as the Procure-to-Pay process.

Main responsibilities :

  • Analyze logistics cost, benchmarking and operational data to see opportunities generating Cost Reduction, Inflation Avoidance, Cash Preservation, Supplier Performance Improvement and Risk Mitigation.
  • Partner with Global Category Manager Air & Ocean Freight to validate pipeline of opportunities and prioritize efforts.
  • Collaborate with Global Transportation, Regional and sites Supply Chain, as well as support functions (i.e. Quality, HSE, Finance) to align sourcing goals and timelines with key Cost-to-Win programs.
  • Set up and manage bi-annual and weekly sourcing events in Keelvar, assess and negotiate offers, evaluate scenarios and present actionable recommendations to Procurement and Supply Chain Leadership.
  • Lead Supplier Relationship Management program, driving identification of opportunities and Supplier CI, suppliers development and delivery of sustained value for BD.
  • Provide inputs for Budget Guidance.
  • Advocate for the implementation of Procurement Category Strategies Globally within each Region.
  • Partner with Procurement Center of Excellence to timely draft and implement contracts and service level agreements.
  • Improves processes that strategically address chronic problems.

Preferred profile :

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or Business;
  • Desirably 3-5 years of work experience, preferably in Logistics, Life Science, Automotive, Consumer Goods or High-Tech industries.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, and ability to rapidly process complex non-standardized data to derive conclusions and find opportunities.
  • Advanced level or certification in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint; MS Power BI and Power Automate can be a plus
  • Skilled at developing partnerships, building and maintaining strong working relationships.
  • Proficient English written, verbal and visual communication skills

Travel 10 - 20% (region and globally)
