Mechanical Designer/Drafter

We are looking for a talented individual who has a passion to develop creative solutions to complex problems This position will be part of the plant project engineering group and will be a designer/drafting resource for all plant departments. In addition to providing support to all plant departments, the role will be responsible for managing small to medium scope design projects to improve production OEE and meet the overall annual improvement goals of the plant.

Responsibilities:
- Create mechanical designs, drawings, and models (Solidworks) based on project requirements.
- Develop conceptual design options for review by stakeholders.
- Create detailed specifications for parts and assembly based on design intent.
- Perform tolerance stack up analysis.
- Participate in design reviews.
- Conduct research into technical issues during development.
- Provide feedback to other departments regarding design issues.
- Support process development projects through involvement in design verification activities.
- Maintain accurate records and files using PDM software.
- Ensure all documentation meets regulatory requirements, GDT standards and internal procedures. Mentor others in drafting standards.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in drafting/CAD or 2+ years equivalent working experience as a designer/drafter
- Experience in mechanical drafting and modeling using SolidWorks preferred.
- Experience in using a PDM system to control drawing and model revisions, PDMworks preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to work optimally both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain strong, effective team relationships with multiple organizational levels across the manufacturing site.
- Ability to consistently meet deadlines and see projects through completion
