About the role:

The Life Sciences Marketing Operations role will play a key role in supporting the team on critical business processes. The individual will be very collaborative and demonstrate the ability to work closely with the sales team, marketing team and shared services business partners. Strong analytical skills, customer focus, attention to detail, coupled with an inquiring and proactive approach will be keys to success.

Summary

Responsible to assist with tactical marketing activities associated with BD Canada. The role will work as part of a cross functional and collaborative team that is responsible for developing and executing a marketing strategy. The marketing coordinator will gain valuable skills in developing competencies in marketing execution, communication, and business acumen.

Responsibilities

Sales Collateral Management:

  • Creative Services Coordination of new and revised literature and training materials.
  • Translation, copy approval, printing, and updates/maintenance of specific systems.
  • Inventory, Website Maintenance.
  • Literature and samples backorder/order status communication with sales/marketing.

Compliance:

  • Preparation and follow up on all Marketing/Clinical requirements to ensure compliance and timely payment.
  • Label approval process.
  • Coordination of marketing Spend invoices and tracking versus budget.

Customer Event Coordination:

  • Maintenance of national conference calendar.
  • Conference Logistical Coordination.
  • Inventory and logistical coordination of all conference supplies.
  • Webinar communications and logistics.
  • Events, Advisory Boards, and other customer event logistical coordination.

Marketing Event Coordination:

  • Regional Marketing and National Sales meeting Coordination.
  • Monthly Marketing meetings.
  • Annual Strategic Review Preparation Meetings.
  • Coordinate onboarding training schedule for new hires with the marketing teams.

General Duties:

  • Business Brand Ambassador.
  • Overall Administrative Support for Marketing Team.
  • Execution of marketing promotions/campaigns as required.
  • RFP sample coordination as required.
  • Business Intranet Page Updates and Maintenance.
  • Product Activation/Discontinuation Coordination.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of tradeshows.
  • Assist with ongoing optimization and execution of digital marketing activities.
  • Assist the commercial team with post-sales support to improve customer experience.
  • Assist with organization of product demonstrations.
  • Manage regional marketing content/collateral approval process.
  • Manage product activations, sales samples database and e-commerce merchandising.
  • Manage customer inquiries and lead management.
  • Manage custom reagent order process.
  • Manage Software Analysis product portfolio.
  • Maintenance of approved collateral pieces on Showpad.

Skills and Competencies

  • Bilingual in French and English is an asset.
  • Adept in Technology - Technological skills necessary to perform data entry, - including ability to input data into a customer relationship management (CRM) system.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Strategic Planning - Ability to plan strategically / Prioritizing of tasks in order of importance or planning out processes for the entire team.
  • Resourcefulness - Ability to adapt get job done quickly - resourceful in getting tasks done through multi-tasking and creative thinking skills, ability to be resourceful in exploring other avenues to reach a solution.
  • Anticipates Needs - Ability to anticipate needs and complete important tasks without needing to be asked - take initiative to support the business.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work with both autonomy and in a team environment.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Verbal & Written Communication.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 3-5 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Experience with SAP or similar system.

Education and Training

  • University Degree in Life Sciences, Business, or similar field.
