Reporting to the Planned Maintenance Leader, the Maintenance Technical Leader will take ownership of all aspects related to TPM, coordinating maintenance activities and liaising with the Maintenance Planner and Spare Parts Coordinator. This role involves leading a team of technicians to ensure equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and support continuous improvement initiatives. You will provide feedback on existing manufacturing equipment and PM processes to improve efficiencies and productivity. Working with the Maintenance Planner and Spare Parts Coordinator, you will be responsible for the management of all PM activities across all shifts for your respective area.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Implement improvements to TPM processes to increase OEE, liaise with department representatives to ensure that PM is successfully initiated and completed within the time frame.
  • Lead a team of Planned Maintenance Technicians, oversee daily work assignments, prioritising tasks and ensuring team members are equipped and prepared for tasks.
  • Attend daily board walk for current line on PM and the line which is going into PM the following week, ensuring all extra works and issues are captured and resolved.
  • Deliver 4 block KPI's and actions three times per week to wider business teams.
  • Liaise with the BD Excellence group and Planned Maintenance Leader to share information that is potentially advantageous to provide cost reductions and efficiency improvements as and when required.
  • Ensure that any statutory legislation / obligation is adhered to regarding TPM, especially those associated with Health & Safety requirements and environmental needs.
  • Work with Manufacturing Unit Leaders to ensure 100% compliance with SAP works orders
  • To manage and ensure accurate data entry of SAP in relation to PM, liaising with the Maintenance Planner and providing feedback on a regular basis.
  • Liaise with the Spare Parts Coordinator to ensure prompt and efficient management of spare parts.
  • Work with the Planned Maintenance Leader to monitor and manage the R&M budget.
  • Work with the Maintenance Planner and Spare Parts Coordinator on plant shutdown planning of resources, materials and workload.
  • To assist with training of new technical associates as and when required, ensuring all associated documentation is completed and training records are amended.
  • Carry out 1 on 1s with Planned Maintenance technicians, ensuring career development plans are created and succession plans are in place.
  • To provide regular reports on PM KPI's such as MTBF, MTTR, OEE and R&M expenditure. Assisting the finance department as and when required to help resolve issues and assist with the preparation of the R&M Budget.
  • To work with the Planned Maintenance Leader to improve PM compliance across the Plymouth plant.
  • Ensure all Planned Maintenance Technicians have the relevant training to complete their duties.
  • Individuals have the authority to execute all responsibilities detailed within their job description and any procedures or processes in C2C or otherwise.
  • As People Leaders, your top priority is the safety of your teams it is essential that none of your team members have Safety training overdue on C2C. It is an expectation of you as a Leader to manage your team's C2C compliance to ensure there are zero Safety overdues. Leaders who have team members with overdue Safety C2C items may be subject to disciplinary action.

About you:

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum Level 3 in electrical or mechanical engineering (Or time served experience)
  • GCSE in Mathematics or equivalent.
  • Must have held a technical role within a production environment
  • Experience in a related plant maintenance environment, ideally maintenance activities related to production equipment within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Have knowledge of maintenance systems and procedures, ideally SAP.
  • Knowledge of TPM manufacturing techniques.
  • Prior understanding of maintenance scheduling, task list formulation and material and resource planning.
  • SAP PM Master Data experience
  • Ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary teams.
  • Proactive and decisive teammate with good people skills
  • Proficient in English
