Job Description Summary

Performs routine set up, operation, minor routine maintenance, preventative maintenance (PM) and troubleshooting of moderately complex/automated manufacturing equipment. Controls and adjusts machine settings. Inspects in-process parts to ensure consistent quality and removes defective product, packaging, and component material. Assists with root-cause analysis activities for process or product exceptions. Checks work using prescribed gauges, jigs and fixtures to measure close tolerances. May monitor quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. Ensures accurate documentation of all relevant quality, safety, and maintenance documents. Identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves basic issues associated with the machine performance and/or product quality.

Job Summary:
The Manufacturing Associate will perform all required functions in the production area(s) to meet customer requirements for quality and quantity. The Manufacturing Associate will work safely and maintain good housekeeping practices throughout the facility. The Manufacturing Associate will have the opportunity to advance their career by demonstrating initiative, working independently and/or as part of a team, problem solving, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Work safely and maintain a safe environment for all employees
  • Comply with all regulatory requirements and BD policies and procedures
  • Wear protective equipment as required
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Use machines to form, cut, and finish catheters according to specifications provided by supervisor
  • Initiate and document corrective actions for deviations from standard operating procedures
  • Train new employees on equipment operation and standard operating procedures
  • Provide information to supervisors and managers about processes within assigned area of responsibility
  • All other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience preferred
  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Basic math skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly and move about 10 feet at a time; must be able to stand, sit, bend, twist, pull, push, reach, and walk continuously during the course of the shift
  • Must be able to wear protective equipment such as gloves, lab coats, safety glasses, face masks, and hair nets
