Overview:

BD Interventional's Surgery worldwide business unit, located in Rhode Island, is a leading developer, manufacturer, and marketer of innovative, life-enhancing medical technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Support, develop, maintain, and improve inventory optimization processes and procedures to achieve customer service and working capital goals for the global Surgery business unit.
  • Drive Action to Optimize Inventory to Deliver Inventory Commitments at Region and Plant Level.
  • Work collaboratively with Cross Functional Partners to recommend and drive planning parameter updates in support of inventory commitments, service level commitments, lead time variability, demand - forecast variability, and product life cycle management.
  • Work collaboratively with Cross Functional Partners to recommend and drive projects within the Region and Plant to deliver all inventory commitments.
  • Support Inventory Projection Process and Inventory Budget Process working collaboratively with Regions, Plants, Supply Chain, and Finance to deliver an inventory projection and inventory budget.
  • Leverage performance management to measure accuracy of projection vs actuals and enable continuous improvement to enhance the process.
  • Support Monthly E&O Reserve Process working with Cross Functional Partners to mitigate E&O and provide inventory disposition.
  • Provide SKU Rationalization Recommendations.
  • Recommend and implement master data updates in support of inventory strategy.
  • Drive Standardization and Automation of Inventory Planning Data, Process, KPI.
  • Prepare Executive Level Presentation as required.
  • Maintain long-range (3 year) inventory optimization project funnel for the global business unit.
  • Leverage Lean Concepts and Six Sigma tools to develop and effectively implement inventory optimization.
  • Support the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) Process.
  • Support Integrated Supply Chain planning team as needed.
  • Ensure personal and company compliance with all Federal, State, local and company regulations, policies and procedures for Health, Safety and Environmental compliance.
  • Special projects as assigned.

Education and/ or Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, or Operations and 2-6 yrs of related experience, required.
  • Or MBA/MS in relevant field and 1 - 4 years of related experience
  • Previous inventory optimization experience preferred
  • Previous demand planning, forecasting, and sales planning experience preferred.
  • Previous experience with ERP/APS systems required.
  • APICS certification or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience with Lean Concepts and Six Sigma tools preferred.
  • Must have strong analytical, project management, problem solving, and consulting skills, with the ability to influence, work optimally, and implement solutions in a cross-functional, team environment.
  • Must demonstrate strong communication, interpersonal, leadership, change management, team member management and presentation skills.
  • Distribution and lifecycle management experience preferred.
  • Must be proficient in all Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word)
  • 20% Travel is required.
