Overview
This is a strategic role leading and developing the Executive Recruitment function globally to attract and hire diverse, qualified executive candidates to lead BD's overall business strategy, growth plans, and senior-level succession plans. You will lead the strategy for the recruitment of approximately 200 roles per year and will lead a team of Recruiters, Sourcers, and Researchers around the globe who primarily work remotely in North America and EMEA. In addition to developing functional capability to meet the business and organizational needs, you will manage a small number of the most senior positions within the organization personally.
A visionary leader, you will work to create the future strategy for the function aligned to the evolving business needs, and secure buy-in and investment from top executive, including solving for regions that do not currently have an executive recruiting model in place. You will partner with Talent Management to ensure strong succession pipelines are in place for critical roles and identify and capitalize on areas of opportunity to drive change both within the function and within the organization. With a strong ability to translate business needs into strategies and influence senior leaders within the organization, you will deliver strong and consistent results across BD and contribute to our future talent pipeline.
This role provides flexibility to work 4 days on site in Franklin Lakes, NJ and Friday remotely on a weekly basis.
Responsibilities
- Lead the global Executive Recruitment team, overseeing end-to-end recruitment delivery.
- Develop and implement a best-in-class framework for service delivery at various leadership levels.
- Serve as an executive talent advisor to HR Business Partners (HRBPs) and Senior Leaders for their most senior-level hiring needs.
- Personally partner with senior leaders and HR Business Partners to design, implement, and execute search strategies for the organization's most senior roles.
- Create and drive the future strategy for executive search globally, securing buy-in and investment from top executives.
- Collaborate strategically with Talent Management to ensure a fully integrated end-to-end solution for building a strong and diverse talent pipeline, both internally and externally.
- Partner with Global and Regional Talent Acquisition and Talent Management leaders to ensure alignment to the broader Talent strategy, and integrate to global and regional practices and processes
- Develop relationship with a select number of external search firms, to deliver talent to BD when needed
- Develop a proactive talent pool development and research strategy aligned with organizational talent gaps.
- Drive initiatives with other stakeholders to position BD as an employer of choice for executive talent and implement meaningful programs for successful recruitment and leadership talent development.
- Continuously measure and monitor the effectiveness and efficiency of the executive search function, strategies, and programs, implementing changes to ensure full utilization and optimization.
- Track and report success metrics against KPIs to ensure hiring goals are met or exceeded.
- Maintain compliance with applicable local employment laws and regulations, including equal employment opportunity (EEO).
Experience
- 10+ years' experience working within Executive Search, with experience at a Search Firm required and a strong preference for experience in-house thereafter.
- 5+ years leadership experience in a global capacity developing team capabilities.
- Significant experience working within a heavily matrix environment with a track record of successfully navigating.
- Must have incredibly strong business acumen and savvy with the ability to influence and communicate effectively with senior business leaders.
- Ability to manage ambiguity, stressful and/or confidential situations with ease, professionalism, and savviness.
- Solutions-driven leader with the ability to design and drive forward the recruiting function.
- Possesses personal credibility as embodied by a proven track record of success, able to instill confidence in others, able to frame complex ideas in useful ways, takes appropriate risks, able to provide candid observations and alternative insights on business issues.
- Demonstrated success in translating ambiguous business needs into strategies and concrete team and individual development actions. Balances, integrates, and manages under conditions of uncertainty, ambiguity, and paradox.
- Organizational savvy to apply managerial courage and maintain relationships when confronted with complex and/or difficult situations.
- Possesses key process skills such as consulting, problem-solving, evaluation/diagnosis, workshop and meeting design and facilitation.
- Able to manage change through taking a proactive role in bringing about change and following proven change frameworks.
- Critical thinking skills are essential.
- Action-oriented including the ability to make decisions in the face of ambiguity.
- Results-driven to achieve timely results while multitasking.
- Demonstrated flexibility in responding to business and environmental needs.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
- Preference for experience working with Workday.
