About the role

As a Financial Accountant, your main responsibilities include ensuring accurate US GAAP and local GAAP reporting for Benelux HUB entities and handling Accounts Payable escalations. You are part of the Entity Finance Center of Excellence (COE) and collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, your local Finance team supports business growth by partnering with the local organization.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Manage financial closing activities, tax accounting, and compliance.
  • Investigate expense trends and manage external relationships (auditors, tax advisors).
  • Identify and implement process improvements.
  • Lead projects within the COE. Accounts Payable Coordination: Optimize AP processes, provide training, and handle escalations.
  • Coordinate with the AP team in India and manage direct debits.
  • Work together with the different departments to optimize AP processes & provide internal training
  • Investigate why invoices are not posted and/or paid and escalate when needed
  • Initiate payments to - and follow ups with bailiff
  • Escalate disputed invoices & follow-up with requestor
  • Be the POC for the Accounts Payable team in India to discuss recurring issues & propose improvements

About you

  • Accounting or Finance degree
  • Deep understanding of US GAAP and local GAAP Compliance Requirements
  • Solid understanding of Dutch and English (written and spoken)
  • Ability to learn, drive for results and continuously seek to improve and demonstrating a collaborative mind-set
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong networks, using the networks to acquire relevant information and to navigate the internal organisational matrix Team player and ability to build a collaborative culture within own team, motivating others to deliver effectively
  • Good analytical thinking skills with proven ability to problem solve and deliver process effectiveness, to drive optimized execution and performance
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Good in working towards deadlines
