The Equipment Specialist (ES) reports directly to the Department D-Shift Coach and is responsible for performing routine set up, daily maintenance, and troubleshooting of manufacturing equipment via manual or semi-automated means.
The ES controls and adjusts machine setting, inspects in-process parts to ensure consistent quality and removes defective product, packaging, and component material.
The ES Assists with root-cause analysis activities for process or product exceptions.
They are also responsible to identify and escalate any issues associated with the machine performance and/or product quality.
Shift:
12 hour rotating shift (6PM-6AM) Scheduled to work 7-days in a 14-day period (2 on, 3 off, 2 on, 2off, 3 on, 2 off - every other weekend is scheduled off)

Main Responsibilities
- Operates the line by setting up the machine, loading materials, and ensuring smooth operation throughout the process.
- Performs set-up operations on the machinery including changing tooling, adjusting for quality, making offsets, and cleaning parts as needed.
- Ensures continuous operation of equipment by performing preventive maintenance tasks such as lubricating moving parts, replacing worn or defective components, and keeping records of maintenance activities.
- Troubleshoots problems with the equipment as they arise and makes repairs when necessary.
- Monitors product quality and adjusts parameters to ensure specifications are met.
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment by adhering to safety protocols and good manufacturing practices.
- Collaborates with other team members to resolve issues and improve production efficiency.
- Participates in Continuous Improvement projects to increase productivity and reduce waste.
- Assists in training new employees and providing guidance on proper operating procedures.
- Maintains accurate records of production metrics, downtime, and maintenance activities.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred.
- Experience in manufacturing/operations, preferably in Medical Devices
- Previous experience with Automated Packaging Equipment.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds, climb stairs and ladders, bend, reach, push, pull and stand for long periods of time.
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
- Proficient computer skills.
