Summary

As Head of Commercial Operations, Korea, you will play a decisive role in strengthening commercial strategy and capabilities within the country. Leveraging your extensive industry knowledge and proven leadership skills, you will drive business growth by enhancing the performance of our sales and marketing teams, optimizing pricing strategies, inculcating data-driven decision making, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Reporting to the Country General Manager for Korea, you will be a member of Korea Leadership team, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders in Korea and Greater Asia Region to achieve commercial success across all BUs in Korea.

Responsibilities

  • Manage 5 functional pillars across Sales operations/ Business Intelligence, BD Korea Customer Experience Center (call center/digital interface with customer), Digital/Omnichannel Marketing, and Distribution Management.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance metrics to measure the effectiveness of commercial initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and driving continuous enhancement.
  • Support the continuous optimization of go-to-market approaches in country, providing the right tools for Bus to choose between various promotional and distribution options.
  • Support BUs in translating their strategic imperatives into tactics and campaigns, while enabling the use of technology to drive effectiveness.
  • Own the local deployment and leveraging of SFDC, resulting in improved decision-making, collaboration and execution for sales and marketing teams in the country.
  • Lead the development and execution of Sales Force Excellence programs, enabling high-performing sales teams through training, coaching, and performance measurement.
  • Drive end-to-end Business Intelligence capabilities, starting from improved data quality and leading to advanced analytics that guide decision-making, identify market trends, and highlight growth opportunities.
  • Oversee the design and delivery of Sales and Marketing training programs, equipping commercial teams with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles.
  • Collaborate with regional and global stakeholders to align commercial strategies with overall business goals, sharing best practices and fostering knowledge sharing.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance metrics to measure the effectiveness of commercial initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and driving continuous enhancement.
  • Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and market dynamics to inform strategic decision-making and maintain a competitive edge.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in sales, marketing, or commercial roles within the medical device or healthcare industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading cross-functional teams and driving commercial excellence initiatives.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • In-depth understanding of sales and marketing processes, business intelligence tools, and pricing strategies.
  • Proficiency in Korean and English.
  • Willingness to travel within the Asia region as needed.
  • Must be results oriented and able to prioritize multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment and can execute plans and initiatives with sense of urgency
  • Experience using statistical computer languages (R, Python, SLQ, etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets.
  • Experience creating and using advanced machine learning algorithms and statistics: regression, simulation, scenario analysis, modelling, clustering, decision trees, neural networks, etc.
  • Experience with distributed data/computing tools: Map/Reduce, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Gurobi, MySQL, etc.
  • Experience visualizing/presenting data for stakeholders using: Power BI, Tableau, etc.
