Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Science Architect & Delivery Manager to join our TGS Digital Transformation team. This pivotal role will support BD's Cashflow Forecasting program during and post-implementation, ensuring the AI/ML solution aligns with business objectives to enhance the accuracy and reliability in cashflow predictions. This position will play a crucial role in advancing BD's strategic goals for AI/ML adoption and MLOps practices, driving innovation and excellence in our data science initiatives.
The ideal candidate will act as a bridge between external vendors and various internal teams, including business stakeholders, data engineering, data governance, cybersecurity, regulatory, AI governance, and IT validation, ensuring seamless coordination in a complex environment. This role requires direct interactions with business and TGS stakeholders and offers global coverage. The preferred location for this position is our BD headquarters in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey, US.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead delivery squads in defining, building, interpreting, and deploying predictive analytics and machine learning models, driving continuous improvement and iterative enhancements of AI/ML models.
- Oversee the solution architecture for complex projects to mitigate risks associated with AI/ML implementation, ensuring regulatory compliance, scalability, reusability and maintaining data integrity.
- Ensure effective coordination between 3rd party vendors and internal teams such as business stakeholder teams, data engineering, AI governance, cybersecurity, regulatory, data governance, and IT validation.
- Manage offshore teams in continuous delivery, coordinating sprint planning, execution and delivery of robust AI solutions.
- Engage in direct interactions with business and TGS stakeholders to ensure alignment with business objectives and ensure successful delivery of AI solutions.
- Promote a culture of data-driven decision making within the organization. Promote data literacy among Finance stakeholders. Mentor and develop team members, providing guidance and support to reach their full potential.
Technical Skills
- Expertise in predictive analytics and machine learning model development and deployment.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and R for data analysis, machine learning model development, and deployment.
- Experience with advanced machine learning techniques and frameworks (e.g., deep learning, reinforcement learning).
- Strong understanding of AI governance, cybersecurity, regulatory compliance, data governance, and IT validation / service management processes.
- Experience with ML lifecycle management tools such as MLflow, Kubeflow, or similar platforms.
- In-depth knowledge of cloud services (e.g., Azure, AWS), particularly Databricks, Azure Machine Learning, Azure Data Factory, and other related or similar services.
- Solid understanding of data engineering principles and experience with ETL processes.
- Data visualization skills to effectively communicate insights.
Soft Skills
- Excellent leadership and communication skills to lead and motivate a diverse team.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven management skills to oversee complex data-related projects involving multiple teams and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing change initiatives, particularly in the context of AI adoption
- Ability to work effectively in a complex, global environment with stakeholders possessing varying levels of
- data literacy
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically to align AI/ML initiatives with business goals.
- Adaptability and a commitment to continuous learning in a fast-paced field.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related field
- Proven experience as a Data Science Lead/Manager or similar role (5+ years) including hands-on experience.
- Demonstrated success in implementing AI/ML solutions in complex business environments.
- Experience with data science maturity models to scale and mature data science practices within the organization
- Familiarity with the medical device industry, the Finance domain and cashflow forecasting.
