Job Description Summary

As Control Systems Engineer you will be working with the Asset Care Reliability Leader and will be responsible for providing control system support with the implementation of cost reduction, process improvement and capital addition programs. In addition, you will provide support for software and control systems equipment associated with the manufacturing areas across the plant.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Control and develop equipment software revision and supporting documentation.
  • Plan, design and specify improvements to existing processes to improve productivity and efficiency and minimise risk from component obsolescence.
  • Innovate, design, and specify new processes to meet manufacturing requirements.
  • Working and implementing Conditional and Time-Based monitoring systems on site.
  • Advise on where control system upgrades would enhance equipment performance.
  • Ensure that the manufacturing teams are issued with all the relevant software documentation, procedures, drawings, and parts lists in the technical construction file.
  • Maintain the site control system specifications and standards for equipment.
  • Ensure that software and control systems have been validated to the relevant standards.
  • Support the Operational Technical teams with breakdown and fault-finding requests.
  • Carry out other duties as deemed appropriate by the Asset Care Reliability Leader.

About you:

  • Hold a first class or upper second-class honours degree in engineering or possess relevant experience with technical education (HND /HNC).
  • Experience in a related environment, ideally medical device manufacture or pharmaceutical or proven capability within BD.
  • Experience of programming and fault-finding PLC and servo-controlled equipment.
  • Experience with Allen Bradley and Omron equipment would be advantageous.
  • Proven achievement with software and control systems in a related environment.
  • Able to generate and modify electrical drawings, preferably using AutoCAD.
