Job Description Summary

The Contract Lifecycle Management team at BD oversees customer contracts across all BD business units in the UK & Ireland. This includes managing contracts related to Managed Services and leading third-party agreements where necessary. The team collaborates with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure the development and management of contracts, monitoring compliance, and minimising risk exposure. The aim is to maximise commercial benefits while providing outcomes-based solutions for customers and patients.

As a Contract Lifecycle Manager UKI, you will lead the team of Contract Specialists, ensuring best-in-class contract management across the entire lifecycle. You will play a key role in shaping customer and third-party relationship management within a diverse contract portfolio. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining the BD Customer Contracts Database and ensuring compliance with internal processes and applicable laws. You will play a pivotal role in advancing our contract lifecycle management function, driving change, and elevating our team's professionalism to new heights. Main responsibilities will include:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Contract Specialists team, encouraging ongoing learning and skill development.
  • Lead all aspects of the development of customer contract and relationship management capabilities.
  • Establish and implement contractual agreements and operating models, particularly in the Managed Services space.
  • Manage relationships with internal and external collaborators, including third parties.
  • Maintain all customer contract-related processes and SOPs across BDX, ensuring compliance and providing quality assurance.
  • Develop and maintain the BD Customer Contracts Database, monitoring performance and reporting results.
  • Drive continuous improvement by addressing process failures and performance issues.
  • Directly manage customer contracts where required, applying knowledge of contract management and procurement law.

About you:

  • A degree in a relevant field such as science, economics, or business studies. CIPS Level 6 Diploma in Procurement and Supply is desired.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in contract lifecycle management or similar roles, including 2+ years in a leadership position.
  • Medical Device background working across the NHS landscape at a senior level is desired.
  • Demonstrable experience in the full spectrum of customer contract lifecycle management, compliance, and risk management.
  • Proven ability to manage diverse partner relationships, including third-party entities.
  • Knowledge of UK & Ireland (and EU) public procurement legislation and policy.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, with experience in TenderEyes or SharePoint as a plus.
