Job Summary:

The Clinical Nurse Specialist (Field Eastern Canada) is a vital partner with the BD Interventional commercial team supporting the delivery of our urology and critical care portfolios, and is responsible for supporting customers by applying clinical experience to clinical programs, product demonstrations, clinical simulations and committee presentations. The Clinical Nurse Specialist will also be responsible for building a network of clinical relationships to support new opportunities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate expert knowledge of products, services and regulatory requirements to stakeholders in the sales process that positively influence sales opportunities.
  • Collaborates with sales and marketing team to develop strategies and action plans to clinically influence decision toward new products and services and drive acceptance and satisfaction in multi-site or complex clinical environments.
  • Creates or improves strategies to optimize product evaluation processes to enhance participation, competitive positioning and outcome and ability to build key champions.
  • Communicates pertinent voice of customer and observed healthcare trending information to numerous internal departments which help support product quality, service development and customer satisfaction efforts.
  • Demonstrates ability to present solutions to problems, considering all angles and maintaining awareness of goal to achieve desired outcome.
  • Demonstrates extensive knowledge and understanding of relevant clinical environments, and BD products/services.
  • Lead customer centric assessments in single, multi-site and/or complex environments.
  • Serves as lead consultant and resource to internal and external customers in multi-site and/or complex environments.
  • Mentors internal staff regarding best demonstrated practices.

Education and Experience:

  • Graduation from a Canadian approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse.
  • Bachelor's Degree required, advanced or master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years hospital-based Nursing practice.
  • Fluent in English and in French (read, write, speak) as the role will need to communicate with French-speaking customers and internal team members.
  • This is a field based position with 50-80% travel.
  • Successful candidate will reside near a major airport in the province of Ontario.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a past clean driving record for a minimum of 3 years, as well as meet BD's auto safety standards.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Work cohesively and collaboratively with peers to achieve common goals, with the ability to function in matrixed environments.
  • Ability to manage and flex priorities, seek and apply feedback, and readily adapt to change, while effectively managing your time and projects.
  • Ability to lead all related customer training planning deliverables, gain consensus, and deliver concise and consistent communication across their organization.
  • Strong business acumen and passion towards excellent customer experience both internally and externally.
  • Stellar communication skills (verbal, non-verbal, and written) across all levels of leadership, top to bottom, in a highly regulated industry.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to include negotiation, decision-making, influence, and conflict resolution.
