Summary:
Dymax is looking for a Buyer/Planner to join our team in South Windsor, CT! As the Buyer/Planner you will be responsible for supporting the supply chain through all stages of production planning, purchasing, inventory control and logistics functions. You will also develop relationships with suppliers, negotiate pricing, lead time and delivery, communicate effectively with internal departments, and ensure adherence to corporate policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicating with Suppliers on order status and expedite requests
  • Developing and maintaining effective business relationships with internal and external customers
  • Lead efforts to improve service levels and cost reductions
  • Support customer requirements by providing accurate lead times and information
  • Coordinating and communicating material shortages and alternative solutions
  • Manage Inventory levels and report on same
  • Provide assistance as needed to Operations, Quality, Engineering and Shipping
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement projects as required
  • Prepare reports as requested
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 1-2 years related work experience required
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal are necessary to effectively communicate with all levels of employees and outside contacts
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while meeting established deadlines
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required; ERP software knowledge a plus
  • Excellent organizational skills required
  • Detail oriented
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team environment
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all levels of personnel throughout the organization.
  • Fluent English speaker; additional language skill set a plus
