Role Overview :
The BD Product Manager will be responsible for managing and owning the marketing processes and programs associated with the BD Biosciences Clinical platform in Canada. The role is responsible for the development and implementation of a consistent and integrated marketing and sales strategy for the portfolio of products to meet growing sales and category share targets. The role will work as part of a cross functional and collaborative team that is responsible for developing a marketing strategy and value proposition that drives customer interest, lead generation, lead conversion, customer loyalty and retention.
Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Product Manager will have the following responsibilities:
- Financial Management: Oversee financial budgets and projections for platform revenue and profitability, leveraging customer data.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic, fact-based market plans to drive platform growth for the short and long term.
- Market Research & Product Launch: Plan and execute market research, product launches, and marketing campaigns to ensure rapid customer adoption of BD technology.
- Communication & Sales Tools: Create and manage market communication plans and sales tools.
- Global Collaboration: Work with the worldwide BD Biosciences Clinical marketing team to meet regional customer and market needs, including backorder support, Health Canada requirements for IVD products, and global marketing plan execution.
- Commercial Activities: Partner with the sales team for customer site visits and other commercial activities, including (but not limited to) business case proposals, RFP responses, LEAN studies, contract pricing, etc.
- Customer Insights: Analyze data to generate actionable customer insights, prioritize customer needs, and define the desired customer experience.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work collaboratively across functions to align on a common vision for the customer buying journey and develop internal networks to support product delivery.
- Digital Marketing: Plan, develop and execute digital marketing strategies to identify and nurture Marketing Qualified Leads (MQL) into Sales Qualified Leads (SQL).
- Pricing Excellence: Manage pricing strategies for the product portfolio.
- Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as the local subject matter expert on products within the portfolio, including training the local commercial team.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, M.Sc and/or MBA an asset.
- 5+ years of marketing experience in the Medical Device industry. Life Sciences marketing experience preferred.
- Familiarity and/or experience with Immunology and Flow Cytometry.
- Experience with clinical labs in acute care hospital environment an asset.
- Finance business acumen a strong asset.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Advanced verbal, written and presentation/communications skills.
- Working knowledge of SAP, customer resource management (CRM) systems and content management an asset (Salesforce, Marketo, Showpad etc.).
- 15% travel, overnight within Canada and the US.
