BD is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Associate Territory Manager to join our dynamic team in the Infection Prevention and Biosurgery division. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting our cutting-edge products and fostering strong relationships with physicians, clinicians, materials management professionals, and key decision-makers. Your expertise and commitment will contribute to our mission of advancing healthcare solutions and improving patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with field sales teams to strategize, execute, and provide technical support for customer training and clinical cases
- Collaborate with sales management to prioritize targeted customers, cases, and training events
- Support the development of regional physician proctors for formal and informal training activities
- Conduct training and in-servicing for hospital surgery staff and support personnel
- Contribute to the establishment of regional centers of excellence and work with Marketing on territory physician training seminars
- Provide support for regional marketing events, conventions, and symposia
- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned
- Maintain equipment, advertising, and promotional materials in a presentable and orderly manner
- Complete all paperwork thoroughly and on time, maintain accurate account records, and apply sales funnel strategies to set goals and target accounts
- Effectively manage productive selling time, including late afternoon calls with a minimum of three operating rooms and four surgeon contacts per day, contacting physicians at their offices if unavailable at the hospital
- Acquire comprehensive knowledge of prices, discounts, availability of each product, and competition based on quality and quantity
- Maintain an adequate supply of promotional tools (samples, brochures, videos)
- Possess and continuously expand knowledge of all basic and new products to conduct in-service education at hospitals
- Stay within the assigned expense budget
- Effectively utilize selling presentations and standard answers to objections
- Continuously enhance knowledge of trends (business, technological, sociological), sales skills, promotion techniques, new product information, and sales forecasting
- Maintain strong relationships with the District Manager, Territory Managers, and customers
- Plan sales calls continuously and organize time for effective territory coverage, utilizing a daily written plan
- Develop a thorough understanding of company policies and the ability to interpret them for customers and prospects
- Maintain the company car in a clean, orderly, and serviceable condition
- Leverage opportunities such as nurses lectures, journal club meetings, local seminars, resident lectures, hospital displays, and evaluation committee product presentations
Education
Bachelor's degree in a related discipline is required.
Experience
- 1-2 years of general sales experience is preferred
- Experience working in a team environment, particularly with sales professionals
- Ability to work in an operating room environment is required
