This role provides flexibility to work on site 4 days and remotely Friday on a weekly basis.

Job Summary
The Associate Director Global Marketing, Lab Automation is an integral role in the global microbiology team and will be accountable for the delivery of customer focused solutions for the BD Kiestra™ platform, including setting the strategic direction, financial performance, executing the required tactics to enable successful commercial execution and profitable growth for the lab automation portfolio. The role includes upstream marketing activities, engaging in research and/or clinical partnerships to provide innovative yet clear solutions to address unmet customer needs. The role will have direct responsibility for driving the BD Kiestra™ stand-alone and modular strategies in key regions. Directly reporting to the Associate Director Global Marketing, Lab Automation, will be a Global Marketing Manager and a Marketing Assistant.

Responsibilities:

• Lead change and drives profitable growth for the lab automation platform through focus on customer solutions (versus "boxes") and embed a strong customer centric focus into portfolio decisions
• Lead the global strategy evolution and execution of the stand-alone and modular strategy for lab automation by deploying best-in-class marketing practices for segmentation, targeting, positioning, and messaging to deliver differentiated value for BD and our customers.
• Lead, develop and implement global marketing tools and initiatives to ensure regions are equipped for success and best-positioned to drive adoption, acquire and retain customers for BD Kiestra™ Track the effectiveness of implementation, including sales funnel activities, impact of associated product revenue, profitability and category share growth.
• Work collaboratively across the Global Microbiology team, regional partners and cross-functional teams to execute strategy and deliver financial performance.
• Supports the ASR (strategic planning) and budgets, determining forecasts and delivering on the financial performance of the business platform jointly with the Microbiology Marketing Directors and the VP, Microbiology Platform Leader
• Monitors and ensures proper communication of relevant market trends, clinical practices, regulations, and policy to ensure continuing strategic fit. Identifies opportunities for alternative markets.
• Manages brand, product campaigns and execution with region collaboration.
• Develops pricing strategies and guidelines for regions, monitors regional performance.
• Effectively partners and collaborates with regional business leaders, R&D, Medical Affairs, Scientific Affairs, Business Development, and other functions to ensure development and execution the BD lab automation strategy.
• Leads and supports resource decisions for direct reports career development recognizing that leadership happens at all levels and in line with critical capabilities for BD and BD DS.
• Partners with leadership on portfolio strategy, product roadmap and priorities for specified market segment in partnership with key functions.
• Maintains strong relationships with key opinion leaders, customers, professional associations, and advisory boards in partnership with Scientific Affairs.
• Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree desired
• 5 years of related functional experience and marketing leadership in medical device and/or life sciences industry with a consistent track-record in leading & developing high performing teams in a complex-matrix business environment.
• Demonstrated ability to conceive, develop and implement commercial strategies, convert these into tactical marketing plans and deliver results.
• Experience in Microbiology and/or Infectious Diseases is ideal, plus general knowledge of the diagnostics / life sciences market, as well as sales, operations, and marketing functions.
• The ability to understand and translate scientific, clinical, and technical information into marketing and customers benefits to inform strategies and tactical execution is a key skillset
• Ability to develop strong relationships with key opinion leaders, customers, and potential or existing business partners.
• Strong leadership presence with ability to utilize organizational channels, experience and influencing skills to persuade others of the course of action, facilitate successful project implementation and effective implementation.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills for a wide variety of audiences, including senior management.
• Ability to work across all global regions at both an executive and tactical sales/marketing level.
• Global experience is highly preferred and experience in emerging and developing markets is a plus.
• Flexibility to travel globally up to 30% of the time.
