POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for articulating a compelling, actionable clinical, quality, and safety strategy and vision for WIP services across the delivery system. Additionally, will inherently provide leadership and subject matter expertise to all WIP Clinical operations within Banner. This leader will be required to develop a deep understanding of Banner's operating model and be a highly skilled strategic thinker, and collaborator with key stakeholders This includes but is not limited, to the collaboration in the creation of a strategic plan and subsequent implementation and execution of the work activities to meet the clinical care quality and safety goals and objectives developed within that plan. Assumes responsibility for all aspects of clinical operations and oversees the operational and quality components of WIS operations. Other aligned responsibilities include planning clinical programs, manage the implementation of programs, and evaluate program effectiveness. He/she will also ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations and enforce all procedures, policies, and standards to ensure consistent application and effective operations. Demonstrates sound clinical judgment in the clinical practice area.

CORE FUNCTIONS

1. The position provides system-wide clinical leadership for the function of comprehensive WIP oversight and management in alignment with strategic initiatives operations and direction.

2. Establishes processes and methodologies dedicated to the comprehensive implementation of a comprehensive WIP care delivery system in alignment with the WIP strategic plan to optimize operational effectiveness, supply-chain management, clinical effectiveness, personnel management, physician collaboration and support, logistics and fiscal management.

3. Ensures ease of access, clinical effectiveness, and standardization in practice across the care continuum. Develops strategies and plans for utilization of procedures in the most clinically appropriate locations.

4. Leads the organization's efforts in establishing evidence-based practices specific women's, infants, and pediatric services through effective resource management and ensuring maximum patient benefit through efficient and effective clinical standards and practices.

5.Participates with the Presidents, V.P., CEO's and Service Line leadership in the development and implementation of strategic planning specific to the service line.

6. Ensures compliance with all accreditation and regulatory standards for the appropriate agencies (JCAHO, State, AWHONN, etc.) by understanding agency standards and planning for accreditation compliance.

7. Develops a plan in collaboration with stakeholders that ensures the attainment of program objectives required resources.

8. Supports facility leaders to build, hire, train, and lead a highly effective clinical and administrative WIS management team including clinical policy development and implementation, alignment of care standards, comprehensive quality monitoring, and improvement. Provides direct client support related to organization strategy, design and consultation. Fosters a smooth functioning, efficient organization through anticipating challenges and the timely and effective resolution of disruptions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Expert-level working knowledge of principles, practices, and operations in assigned area of responsibility as normally obtained through the completion of a bachelor's degree in a relevant field and a minimum of five years of progressively responsible managerial experience in designated facility, business entity or area, including a minimum of two years management level experience within a major health care organization, health system setting, or large multi-operational corporate environment in complex industries similar to healthcare.

Current Registered Nurse licensure required. Must hold or be eligible to obtain an unrestricted/unencumbered Registered Nursing license in the State of Arizona.

Depending upon assigned area of responsibility, position may require applicable certifications and/or licensures, including but not limited to: RN; MD or DO; Driver's License; Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator (CHPA); Certified Protection Professional (CPP); Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU); Associate in Risk Management (ARM); CPA; SPHR; Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA); Registered Health Information Technologist (RHIT); Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM); Certified Facility Manager (CFM); Certified Coding Specialist (CCS); Certified Professional Coder (CPC); JD from an American Bar Association accredited school; admission to a State Bar Association.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Master of Science in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or Business Administration highly preferred.

ANCC certification in specialty area preferred.

Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
