Our Business
Global Investment Banking focuses on building long-term relationships with large corporations, financial institutions and financial sponsors. We have cultivated a 'best in class' reputation by providing strong advisory expertise and capitalizing on powerful M&A, debt and equity product expertise to deliver integrated financial solutions.
The Natural Resources & Energy Transition ('NET') team provides strategic and event driven advisory and capital raising services to public and private companies, investors, pension funds and sovereign wealth funds across mining, upstream oil & gas, downstream energy, commodity linked infrastructure and mining services sectors.
The Australian NET team has been at the forefront of activity in the sector, advising on the largest M&A, ECM ad DCM transactions in 2023/24, with marque deals including Newmont's acquisition of Newcrest, South32's divestment of its Illawarra Metallurgical Coal business, Alumina on its takeover by Alcoa, and Whitehaven on its acquisition of Blackwater & Daunia from the BHP-Mitsubishi Alliance.
We require a Vice President to join our market leading NET team in Australia as it continues to grow.
Job Description
- Ability to operate as client/ project / deal team lead/team member, leading/supporting client relationships, driving the work product and transaction processes
- Participate and lead in the execution of M&A transactions and equity and debt financing
- Perform in-depth financial, valuation, due diligence and industry analysis
- Lead marketing presentations and live deal material
- Lead client meetings
- Generate ideas and opportunities for new and existing clients, across the sector
- Train and mentor junior bankers (analysts and associates) as they develop core investment banking skill sets
- Work with teams consisting of professionals drawn from across the business, including other bankers within your group, experts in other areas of the firm and colleagues from around the globe
Requirements:
- Investment Banking experience ideally within Natural Resources, Energy, Infrastructure or Industrials
- Outstanding academic achievement
- A bachelor's degree plus 6+ years of investment banking, corporate finance, M&A, modelling/valuation or consulting experience
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to train and develop juniors
