Process Overview

The Application Production Services & Engineering (APSE) organization leads end-to-end application production services across Global Technology. By partnering with development and infrastructure teams, they deliver best-in-class application availability and resiliency for clients and teammates, while deploying best practices in engineering and operational excellence.

Employee Experience Infrastructure Production Support (EEI PS), part of the Application Production Services & Engineering (APSE) organization, manages all end user computing, productivity, real time communications and collaboration services, including platform, voice, video, mobility and user support and operations services. The team operates in more than 30 countries and is responsible for delivering end-to-end technology and operations supporting desktop platforms, mobility services, and communication and collaboration technologies worldwide.

Job Description


Collaboration Services Operations (CSO) SharePoint Operations team is responsible for managing Enterprise Sharepoint Collaboration & Application Farm, MySites and SNAPShots Employee Video farm. Team is involved in handling level 3 tasks for escalated incidents, perform changes across the entire farm and work on Problem records.

The ideal candidate will provide vision and leadership related to best practices for architectural design. They will understand the Microsoft SharePoint solution stack, and have a thorough understanding of enterprise application integration. Integrations could include Business Process and Forms, Business Intelligence, Collaboration, Enterprise Content Management, and Portals. Integration of custom SharePoint apps and web parts may also be required.

Responsibilities

  • Experience on Microsoft SharePoint 2013/2016/2019/SE/SharePoint Online
  • Experience in architecting and implementing SharePoint 2016/2019
  • Proficient in designing and implementing SharePoint 2016/2019 Farms (Farm Topology, Infrastructure components, storage, network topology, service applications)
  • Understanding of SharePoint Search - setup, configuration, tuning, API"s and Service Applications
  • Experience with upgrading SharePoint and the migration of SharePoint content databases.
  • Develop/Manage/Support SharePoint reports using Power BI
  • Develop/Support SharePoint workflows using Power Automate.
  • Write PowerShell scripts to automate the BAU repetitive activities.
  • Day-to-day management of the SharePoint farm, and responsible for any changes to production or QA environments, including solution and code deployment, as well as new feature-adds while working with the development team.
  • System security, patching, and upgrades to SharePoint as well as any additional platform software or tools.
  • Define SharePoint end users accounts, permissions, and access rights in accordance with best practices regarding privacy and security within AD groups nested within SharePoint groups
  • Assist in the definition, development, and documentation of business requirements, objectives, deliverables, and specifications on a project-by-project basis in collaboration with users, stakeholders, and customers
  • Understanding of SharePoint including document management and records management and able to communicate the benefits decision makers.
  • Monitor, measure, report and review current performance of application services and ensure availability and capacity meet business demand
  • Facilitates the resolution (both reactive and proactive) of problems throughout the information system lifecycle, including classification, prioritization and initiation of action. Documentation of root causes and implementation of remedies to prevent future incidents.
  • Acts as third level resources for Collaboration application(s)
  • Collaborates effectively with their Architecture/Engineering peers for new initiative solution planning, testing/validation, complex troubleshooting, and problem resolution
  • On-Call support responsibilities (coverage nights & weekends)
  • Experience mentoring and/or managing others

Requirements


  • Education
    • Any Graduate with Windows and Server technologies, Basic Networking concepts
  • Certifications If Any
    • Preferably Microsoft Sharepoint Certified Professional on 2013/2016/2019/SE version
  • Experience Range
    • Minimum 6 years of diverse experience in Information technology domain
  • Mandatory skills
    • 5+ years' experience with Microsoft SharePoint (2013, 2016, SE, & SP Online) & One Drive for Business.
    • 5+ years Microsoft PowerShell and scripting technologies
    • Experience with monitoring technologies (Splunk. SCOM & SiteScope)
    • Solid understanding of Active Directory, Server, Database (SQL) and networking technologies
    • Excellent knowledge on Business Data Connectivity, SSRS, Performance Point, Sharepoint workflows, InfoPath and SharePoint designer
    • Good hands-on experience on Microsoft Power Platforms like Power BI, Power Automate etc.
    • Good Knowledge on Sharepoint migration techniques using content database migration.
    • Good aptitude for logical problem-solving Skills, exposure to troubleshooting IIS, SQL and Active directory.
    • Good working knowledge on IIS & SQL server basic administration.
    • Should be able to analyze network traces or HTTP logs using tools like Wireshark, NetMon.
    • Experience with virtual platforms (client and server) and Microsoft Office products
    • Capable of working effectively under a high pressure and demanding work environment
    • Proven experience in problem identification, troubleshooting and resolution.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to effectively interface with key software/hardware partners such as Microsoft, AvePoint, etc.
    • Experience with the incident, change & problem management disciplines; and knowledge of the Remedy ITSM application toolset.
    • Good communication skills"
  • Desired skills
    • ITIL Certification and in depth understanding of ITIL principles, functions and processes is a plus
    • Server, Storage & Network experience
